We will do this together. UPCOMING DATES Tuesday, January 24

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL Eagle Families,

Family Night, 5pm—7pm STEAM Focus—Student Led EVIT at SRHS, 11:15am 8th Grade Students to Scottsdale Library, 9am-11am Thursday, January 26

I hope this finds you after an incredible holiday season. Our new year and new semester brings along many anticipated events and celebrations. As with most celebrations, they are a result of hard work and overcoming obstacles. I recently heard a quote that I felt was fitting for this coming semester for all incorporated with SRHS: “Let the light that shines in you, be brighter than the light that shines on you.”

Coffee with Principal, 730am-830am Thursday, February 2 College Day Monday, February 6 FAFSA Workshop Monday, February 20 No School Friday, February 24 SCC Open House March 13-17 Spring Break

This semester will be busy and full of assessments, preparation for post-high school, extra-curricular events, final projects, and commencement ceremonies. And the quote, for me, implies that through all of these events, it’s going to take all of us, not sometimes, but all of the time, working together for the true success and best outcomes for the students at SRHS. It is easy to get caught up in the daily grind of mundane details. But it is in these moments of possible irritation, that we need to keep a big picture focus and work together. My favorite night of the year is Senior Commencement. This night fully encapsulates all of these combined efforts, over an extended period of time. As you’ll see at the bottom of each newsletter, I fully believe that the little things add up to big things. Trust me, this can unfortunately be a negative as well. So in the spirit of the positive, thanks in advance for ensuring good attendance and communication to the school. As a school, we promise to continue to strive to improve in any way that will ultimately assist each child. Sincerely, Jon Gentile
