Wedding Star Table Topper A Judy Niemeyer Quilt Taught by

Gretchen Veteran Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructor

30”x30”

You may also choose to do the Bali Bed Runner, the Bali Wedding Star or Grandma’s Wedding Ring. In the two classes you will learn all the techniques needed to complete the larger quilts on your own.

The Wedding Star Table Topper pattern is Judy’s original Wedding Star design downsized to a 2-ring x 2-ring layout. This size will allow you to get your feet wet if you have ever been nervous about doing a wedding ring quilt. This is a two-day class, taught over two months, designed to teach the simplicity of foundation paper piecing while making this wonderful Quiltworx design. You will need to purchase a copy of the pattern listed above for this class. Suitable for confidant beginners to advanced quilters. You will also learn the inside binding technique for the scalloped binding. Pattern: Wedding Star Table Topper; please check www.quiltworx.com for any corrections published after the Print Date on your pattern. This Print Date is found on the back page of the pattern. Include corrections, if any, with your pattern. IMPORTANT  Fabric Selection: Yardage Requirements are found on the back of the pattern. www.quiltworx.com shows many other color arrangements to give you other ideas for your fabric selections. Please read through the entire pattern especially if you have never made a Judy Niemeyer quilt. Read it again before the class. There is a lot to digest. Pre-work before first class for the Table Topper.  Select your 2-1/2” strips. The cover sheet quilts were made using 16 strips, 2 each of 8 strips. If you want more variety, you could choose 16 different strips (or cut yardage).  Select your background, corner and accent fabrics using the information on Page 1 and back page.  Cut out the newsprint papers and place the pieces into bags following the instructions on Page 1, first column.  That’s it! Come with a smile and let’s have lots of fun!

Pre-work for larger wedding ring quilts  Refer to your pattern instructions for selecting your strips and other fabrics  Cut out all the newsprint Units and Template Layout sheets and place in the bags as noted.  Be sure to check www.quiltworx.com for any corrections to your pattern. Chances are good there will be corrections to these older patterns.  If you are comfortable with Judy patterns, then go ahead and cut your fabrics. Otherwise I will cover this in class.
