Begin by cutting your background block 6 ½” x 6 ½” Cut two 3” squares each from blue print and light print. Draw a diagonal line across the wrong side of each light square. Layer a light and a blue square, right sides together, and sew ¼” away from drawn line on both sides. Cut apart on the drawn line and press open. Trim down to 2 ½” square. Make 4 half square triangle units. Cut a blue and light strip, each 1 ½” x 12”. Sew a ¼” seam with right sides together. Open and press. Sub Cut into 2 ½” square units. Make 4. Join all pieces according to diagram and color picture and press seams.
