Begin by cutting your background block 6 ½” x 6 ½”. From Background Light fabric: Cut Four 2”x2” squares (A) Cut Four 4-1/4” x 4-1/4” squares; sub-cut twice diagonally (B) From Star Point fabric: Cut Eight 2-3/8” x 2-3/8” squares; sub-cut once diagonally (C) From Center Light fabric: Cut One 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” square (D) Sew C triangles onto B triangles, as pictured. Press. Make 4 units, set two aside. Sew A squares onto either side of two units. Press. Using two units you previously set aside, sew these onto either side of the center square. Press. Now, sew longer units onto top and bottom of the center piece to create your star block! The diagram below shows the correct letter/piece placement as well.
