Year 2 News Year 2 had some fun learning with 45 boiled eggs! We used them to inves5gate which material would make the best firefighter's helmet. We also had an exci5ng visit from the Fire Brigade. The firefighters were showing us how to get help in an emergency and how to keep ourselves safe and escape the smoke and flames!

Family and Friends Assemblies Our family assemblies are listed below for this Autumn term. All assemblies will start at 9am. 02.12.16 Year 2 THIS Friday 09.12.16 Year 4 All parents/carers, friends and family members are invited to these assemblies which provide the children an opportunity to show what they have been learning about. Please come along! When a9ending please enter at the main entrance and sit in the reserved sea5ng at the back of the school hall. Doors are open for assembly from 8.45am. Mass No Mass in school on Tuesdays 6th,13th and 20th December. There will be a whole school Mass in Church on Wednesday 21st December at 9am.

“We dressed up as firefighters. We drove to the fire and put the fire out. Chantelle and Olivia rescued a dog from the fire!!” Wri9en by Olivia and Harrison Y2. We had great fun in drama, ringing the emergency services and crawling away from smoke and fire.

Sacramental Programme Our Y3 children on the sacramental programme received the sacrament of Reconcilia5on on Sunday aAernoon. Father Lupton said the children were excellent. It really was a prayerful and upliAing occasion. Thank you to all who helped in any way. Year 5/6 Athle&cs Team Well done to this team who are now through to the Rossendale finals. We worked really well as a team. Our favourite events were the triple jump and the 6 lap race.

Christmas Holidays School will close at 3.15pm on Thursday 22nd December and re-open at 8.45am on Monday 9th January 2017.

(PPTA) Lo*o The winner last week was Mrs Fletcher. Congratula5ons to our winner. PPTA Coffee Morning Thank you to all who supported our coffee morning. A total of £112.31 was raised for PPTA funds. Dawn Rose Fashion Event A big THANK YOU to Dawn Rose for the fashion show event. Also THANK YOU to those who came along and enjoyed a relaxing shopping experience. We raised £340.84 for our funds. Christmas Goodies A big thank you to Lisa Fletcher for ordering and organising all the Christmas cards, giA tags, mugs and tea towels. Everyone who placed an order should now have received it. PPTA Raffle Prizes There will be a raffle at each of the Nativity plays. Our PPTA are asking for donations of raffle prizes. If you would like to donate a prize, please send it into school by Thursday 8th December to allow time for the donations to be collated into “larger prizes.” Thank you. Calendars Our school calendar will be on sale at the Christmas Fair, cost £6. Don’t miss the stall selling them!

Confessions On Thursday 8th December years 4, 5 and 6 will walk to Church for Confessions. This will take place during the school day.

Family Christmas Party There will be a Pre Christmas party taking place on the fourth Sunday of Advent, Dec. 18th for all children and families of the Parish. The party in the social centre will start straight aAer the 10.30am Mass. The finish 5me will be 1.30pm.Tickets are £2 per family and there will be a children’s entertainer present. Refreshments will be provided! Tickets are now available and can be bought aAer all Masses. Christmas Fair This will take place in the Church grounds THIS Sunday 4th December from 1pm. All the usual stalls will be there — try your luck on the bo9le and giA tombolas, buy a book at a bargain price or why not visit Father Christmas-he will be there . Please do your best to pop along for an hour or so. Christmas Fair Draw Please return sold 5ckets and payment to school by THIS Thursday 1st December. Any unsold 5ckets should be returned to school so they can be sold during the Fair. Thank you to those who have already returned their sold 5ckets. Cake Stall The cake stall is certainly one of the main a*rac&ons of the Christmas Fair. Could you bake your favourite cake or biscuits so others can enjoy them? Baking can be dropped off at school on Friday or taken straight to the stall on Sunday. Thank you.
