freshly prepared

free school meals

Our menus are based on fresh foods that use less fat, less salt and less sugar. We encourage increased fibre in the child’s diet and operate a nut free policy.

All pupils in Reception, year 1 & 2 are entitled to free school meals. If you have any questions please contact your school reception.

healthy choices Each day we offer a selection of homemade dishes, of which one is vegetarian. All menus are well balanced with protein, carbohydrate, vegetables and salad followed by a choice of homemade desserts. We’d like to thank the children from Darrick Wood & Clare House for attending a taster day and choosing some of our new dishes on this menu cycle.

seasonal local foods Local foods mean less food miles. We aim to make the most of local, seasonal produce. Our seasonal fruit and vegetables are all sourced from Kent and East Sussex. Menus change in line with the seasons.

aid to learning Recent research has shown that a good, healthy meal at lunchtime can help improve pupils attention and response during afternoon lessons.

food for life Nourish Contract Catering are delighted to have been awarded the Silver Catering Mark in all of our Primary Schools as well as having the Bronze Catering Mark.

allergy labelling Nourish have highlighted all the allergens that can be found in our menu next to each dish with the key code displayed at the bottom of the page. This has been produced by our Nutritionalist, Georgina Ayin. Whilst every care is taken with our meal, we cannot guarantee complete absences of allergens in the ingredients due to the presence of allergens within our kitchens and the methods used by our suppliers.
