Wedding Shower for Peter Robinson and Michelle Smith Join us Saturday, April 21st in Sherman Hall from 1:00 to 3:00 as we celebrate the upcoming marriage of Peter Robinson and Michelle Smith. They will be getting married in Iowa City, Iowa on July 6th 2018. They are registered at Target.com, Amazon.com and at https://www.pamperedchef.com/wl/Lw4TRA War Room We know it’s hard for everyone to take advantage of using the War Room to pray, but now you can go back before or after service, take a 3 x 5 card write down some of the prayer requests and take them home. If you have a request or a praise, please jot it down and it will be posted. Hope for the Journey Hope for the Journey is a grief support ministry co-facilitated by Pastor Debbie Federico and Ponce Peterson. This ministry is open to adults that have experienced the death of a loved one. It will meet 9 Mondays, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm beginning 4/2/18-6/4/18. They will be using the Cornerstone of Hope curriculum. For more information, please contact the office or one of the facilitators. Branson Trip MVNU Branson Show Extravaganza, October 1-6, 2018. Mount Vernon Nazarene University is sponsoring a 6-day non-stop bus trip to Branson, Missouri to the Sight and Sound Theater production of “Samson”, Showboat on Lake Taneycomo, A Million Dollar Quartet Show and much more. Please drop any items off in the OCC box in the foyer. This is in addition to collecting individual box, still scheduled for November 12-18.
The Southeast Clergy Hunger Center The center is in need of donations of non-perishable food items. You can drop your donations off at the Hunger Center or here at the church office. BCN KIDS 4:14U NCO’s Got Talent District Talent Festival April 14th at Mount Vernon First Church Registration is due TODAY! April 1st Cost is $12.00. Cost includes pizza lunch and transportation. For questions contact Wendy Ley at [email protected] FNL Friday Night Live Friday, April 6th 6:00pm-8:00pm RSVP on the BCN.org website April’s topic will be “Children in Crisis” We will be having a Pasta Bar Last names A-G bring dessert H-Z side dish Chick-fil-a Macedonia Fundraiser Thursday, April 12th 100% of the proceeds of this fundraiser go to help purchase needed items for the Club 56 classroom. 4:14U on Wednesday Nights During the month of April, the school-age kids will continue to gear up for Talent Fest that is taking place on Saturday, April 14th. Our Choir and puppet team both placed 1st last year and we hope to do it again this year. We will be practicing for choir and puppets as well as having some group time this month. God has gifted us all differently and we will learn about using our talents for the Lord. Preschoolers will be doing a unit on fitness and nutrition. Please make sure the kids wear tennis shoes and comfy clothes!
