Property Set back from the road in a highly sought-after avenue leading down to the seafront in Westbrook is this attractive five bedroom detached family home. The property has been maintained in good condition and provides versatile and wellproportioned living accommodation. There are two reception rooms to the ground floor plus a reception hall, sun room, conservatory, utility area and cloakroom. The kitchen has integrated oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. The five bedrooms and family bathroom are found on the first floor with the master bedroom benefiting from an en-suite bathroom. The property boasts many attractive features including beamed ceilings and attractive fireplaces. Externally the driveway provides off street parking for numerous vehicles leading to two garages, both with electric up and over doors. The garden to the front is laid mainly to lawn with flower and plant borders. The rear garden has a paved patio and is laid mainly to lawn. The property is found within easy access to Westgate town centre where you will find a variety of independent shops, cafes and a cinema. The popular seaside town of Margate with its sandy beach is also close by where there is a wider selection of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes as well as the renowned Turner Contemporary art gallery. Margate also has a mainline railway station providing a regular service to London.

The Vendor’s View We were attracted to this property for a wide range of reasons, mainly to do with the fabulous location and its proximity to the seafront. It’s a nice looking house, with a large driveway and garages, set back from the road, and the beach is within easy reach. Queensdown Lodge has a very warm and comfortable atmosphere, with some lovely features. The spacious hall has a very welcoming feel with a fireplace, and the main lounge is a lovely place to relax and also has a feature fireplace. The house has a very traditional appearance and was built almost 100 years ago, but benefits from all the modern comforts you would expect. We really like the fact that we can walk to the end of the road and be on the seafront with the promenade and the beach. It’s a great place to go walking or cycling, and there are some lovely routes that go all over Thanet. There are a couple of nice little cafes, where you can stop for refreshments, and there is a handy Tesco Express nearby for day-to-day essentials. Margate and Westgate are both only a 20 minute walk away, where there are more shops and other amenities. We particularly like the Carlton Cinema in Westgate, which shows all the major films at a very reasonable price. There are some really good schools in the area, including Grammar schools. This has been our family home for the past twenty years and we have many happy memories of our time here. We are relocating now, but we know we will miss the fabulous sunsets and the ability to walk down the beach to watch them.
