Westside Connection Tournament The game will start with a jump ball, as well as overtime period. Alternating possession after that. Teams will be allowed a minimum of 5 minutes for warmup’s prior to start of the game. Coaches are to fill out the score sheets during warm-up’s. Half time will be 3 minutes. Each game will consist of two 18 minute halves with a running clock. Clock will stop in the last two minutes of the second half on all items that create a stoppage in play (free throws, out of bounds, turnovers, fouls, etc.), unless margin between two teams is 15 points or more. Defenses. 5th Grade - Zone defenses are NOT allowed. Defenses: 6th, 7th, 8th – Any defense is allowed. Pressing: Full court press will be allowed for grades 6, 7 and 8, up to a 15-point lead. After 15 point lead, no press is allowed. 5th grade may press the final 2:00 minutes of each half, but must get back to man – man after offense crosses the half court line. Each team is allowed three (3) time outs per game and one in overtime. There are no carry-overs. Time outs are one minute in length. Overtime will begin with a jump ball and the first OT will be 2 minutes. If score remains tied at the end of first OT a sudden death period will be played starting with a jump ball. No time outs during sudden death. All referee decisions are final. Coaches may talk to referees at timeouts and halftime. No protests will be allowed. Technical fouls are scored 2 points and the ball out-ofbounds.
Westside Connection Tournament Any
player or coach assessed 2 technical fouls in the tournament will be ejected from the game and gym for the remainder of the tournament. All teams must have basketball uniforms with properly numbered jerseys. Teams need to supply their own practice balls. Game ball will be supplied by Westside Connection The intermediate 28.5 ball will be used as the game ball in all divisions. Free throws will be shot for all shooting fouls and/or after the team has reached the 7th team foul. The double bonus will be in effect when the team situation reaches 10 fouls. Players may play on only one team in the tournament.
