PYAA JUNIOR GOLF BEGIN A LIFETIME OF FUN!
Our Program PYAA Junior Golf began in 2004 and in cooperation with Turnberry Golf Course and head PGA Teaching Professional, Scott Jones, PYAA Junior Golf was the foundation of many of our Pickerington North and Central golfers. PYAA Junior Golf offers three leagues based upon age, experience and skill. All leagues consist of PGA Professional lessons, on-course instruction, rounds of golf, and a season ending skills challenge. All lessons consist of golf fundamentals, rules, course management, sportsmanship, and etiquette.
Scrambler Learners League The Scrambler Learners League is an instructional league designed for beginning junior golfers who have completed 1st thru 3rd grade. The league consists of 8 one-hour lessons, 1 twohour on-course lesson 4, six-hole rounds of golf, utilizing the four person scramble forPGA mat, commonly INSTRUCTION known as “best ball”. The fairway tee distances range between 50 to 200 yards. The student to teacher ratio is 8:1.
Players Recreational League The Players Recreational League is an instructional and recreational league designed for beginner and intermediate junior golfers who have completed 4th thru 11th grade. The league consists of 8 onehour lessons, 1 two-hour on-course lesson and 6, six-hole rounds of golf, utilizing the 2 person scramble, match play format. Each two person team will be paired against another two person team during the round for a friendly competition. The family (purple) tees will be utilized and the student to teacher ratio for the Players PRACTICE League is 8:1.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, FUN!
Registration The PYAA Golf registration is open to Pickerington School District Students during the month of April. Our season is from June thru July. Register Online at www.pyaa.org
Premier Competitive League The Premier Competitive League is designed for experienced junior golfers who have completed 5th thru 11th grades and who are preparing for their respective school golf teams. Special emphasis is given to advanced instruction and strict adherence to the rules of COMPETITION golf. The league consists of 8 one-hour lessons, 1 twohour on-course lesson and 6, nine-hole rounds of golf, utilizing the individual match play format, All holes are played from the white or orange tees, depending upon gender. The student to teacher ratio for the Premier League is 8:1.
The PYAA Golf Program is administered in cooperation with Turnberry Golf Course and the Scott Jones Pro Shop.
