Install water saving showerheads to save over 7,000 gallons per year and up to $70 per year per family



Upgrade to a high efficiency clothes washer to save up to 14,000 gallons of water and $140 per year per family



Take shorter showers and save up to 1 gallon per minute



Wash full loads only and save an additional 10,000 gallons and $100 per year



Retrofit or replace toilets with dual flush or low flow models for a potential savings of 10,000 gallons of water and $100 per year



Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth twice a day can save a family 11,000 gallons of water and $110 per year



Faucet aerators reduce flow and produce large savings of up to $100 per year per family; aerators can be installed in minutes for under $10



Check toilets for leaks by adding food coloring to the tank



Run the Dishwasher with only full loads



When replacing appliances, research water saving, high efficiency models for maximum savings



Minimize use of water by reducing use of garbage disposal, consider composting food scraps
