WHY THE HIPPO IS SO FAT
One day in the Tinga Tinga land, there was a skinny, hungry Hippo with a smooth, silky body who lived in the Grassland. She lived happily with all her animal friends: Tickbird, Tortoise, Elephant and Lion. As the sun shone on the grassland, the animals sang a bouncy song.
All except Hippo, who was too skinny. She sat unhappily under the tree with TickBird. TickBird could not balance. Meanwhile, Hippo was getting mad. She couldn't play because she was too skinny and sad. She sat next to the water hole and drank some water.
"Hey Hippo, have a mango!" Tortoise shouted. "No, it's too juicy!"she groaned. Hippo would never take any food. Lion came over and talked to Hippo but that did not work.

Elephant plodded back and put some sticky milk under the tree while hippo was drinking from the water hole. Once hippo was finished, she lay on the sticky milk. "Oh no! Oh no ! I'm stuck...help me someone!" Hippo yelled. All the animals came over and helped Hippo, but it did not work.
They were still trying to get poor hippo off that sticky milk. TickBird said to Elephant, "I think her belly is growing!" "Yes, so do I!" Finally, with all their help, Hippo flung in the air and landed on the floor!
"Oh! Oh! Everybody...I have a big belly!" wailed Hippo. "TickBird, you can now balance on me," said Hippo . Tortoise said, "But remember, Hippo you need to eat!" "Ok, ok, I will!" laughed Hippo.
And that's how hippo has a big belly.
