General specifications for your D.I.Y kit are set out below. Standards and Codes
Fasteners
All buildings are designed in accordance with the loads of AS4055, AS 3600 for the concrete components, the methods of AS 4100 for steel components and the specific requirements of AS 4600 for cold formed sections.
Fasteners are supplied to a class 3 standard as defined in AS 3566. (Refer to BlueScope Steel TB-16 and manufacturers warranty data).
Design Criteria
Designs provided for Class A, S, M or H soil conditions with a safe bearing capacity of 100kPa.
The price of the Carport and Patio range is based on a wind classification region of N2 or N3.
Footings and Slab Gutters
No Earthquake or Snow Loads have been allowed for. Professional advise should be sought to determine the criteria for your site.
The gutter type supplied will be as nominated by our supplier as the most common type for the area.
It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that the design criteria nominated is suitable for the site and proposed building use. This should be obtained from a suitably qualified and insured person/company.
Marking, Cutting and Drilling
Dimensions All dimensions nominated are nominal sizes only. Length and width are to inside of gutter. Height is to top of gutter. Roof pitch is 22.5 degrees, except flatroofs are 5 degrees.
Environmental Characteristics
Most components are marked for easy identification and placement. Most are also cut to length and drilled to suit bolt placement. It will be necessary to cut and/or drill some components on site.
Colours Full selection of BlueScope COLORBOND® colours on roof sheeting and flashings. Some areas have a limited colour range.
All components of the carport or patio are designed to suit the conditions generally described as “non aggressive”. Care must be taken with any steel building to ensure regular maintenance is carried out. The suitable conditions and maintenance requirements are defined in the various BlueScope Steel Technical Bulletins.

Roof Sheeting and Flashings
Ex Works
Corrugated Roof & Infill Sheeting 0.47 Total Coated Thickness (0.42 Base Metal Thickness). Manufactured from BlueScope Steel. Refer to BlueScope Steel TB-1a and 1b.
Collection will be from our supplier’s depots within the nominated town / city.
Galvanised Steel Sections
Delivery is quoted to within the normal delivery runs. Additional fees apply where the address is off the run. Alternatively, delivery is to be ex works. Unloading is included. Semi-trailer access required.
Notes Due to ongoing product development, the seller reserves the right to make design and engineering changes up to the time of commencing manufacture.
All columns are SHS Allgal or similar. Rafters and Purlins are ZINCALUME® with a minimum coating of 350gm/m2 (Z350). Refer to Allgal brochure and BlueScope Steel TB-17.
