Williamstown High School Fall 2016 Cheerleading Thank you for your interest in trying out for fall cheerleading! 

MANDATORY cheer practices will start on Monday, August 22, 2016. Please clear your schedules so you will be completely available during those practice times. Do not schedule doctor’s appointments, hair appointments, driving tests, etc during the scheduled practices.



ATHLETIC PAPERWORK: You must register as a fall athlete through the high school’s athletics page. Click on Sports Sign-ups and follow the steps. You will be able to upload/fill out the Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation and Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation History Forms. It will be your responsibility to make sure an up-to-date Physical is on record in the nurse’s office. If you received a physical for a previous sport, then you do not need another one (they are good for 365 days). Please contact the nurse’s office at the high school if you are unsure if your previous physical has expired. Pre-concussion screening tests will need to be done for all incoming freshman and new athletes at the high school. The test will take place for fall cheerleading after try-outs are complete.



UCA will be here for a full day camp experience on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Camp will be $97.00 per cheerleader. This is mandatory for all cheerleaders who make the team. Money will be due Monday, August 29, 2016.



ORDERING PIECES OF YOUR UNIFORM: You will be responsible for paying for certain pieces of your uniform: sneakers, bloomers, warm-ups, and bow. We will be placing one order of these items as a team. The tentative prices will be as follows: Sneakers: about $65 Bow: about $12 Warm-ups: about $90 for the embroidered jacket and pants Your payment for these items must be ready by Monday, August 29, 2016. An order form will go out to each cheerleader after try-outs.

COME PREPARED: Please show up to practice on the first day IN SHAPE – be running, lifting, stretching, etc. prior to the first day. Also, be aware that you will need the following things for the practices and try-outs:      

Sneakers (cheer sneakers preferably) Your hair pulled up and off your shoulders & bangs clipped back Shorts/Sweats/T-shirt (no tank tops) Supportive undergarments Bring WATER! Absolutely NO JEWELRY, NO PURSES, and NO CELL PHONES!

Also on the website, you will find a detailed end-of-summer practice schedule. Please note that some days there are two practices scheduled. You may leave for lunch or bring lunch with you to eat at school. The fall 2016 football schedule will be posted soon on the WHS website under athletics. You may want to print out a copy and begin to plan your fall schedule. Please note that BOTH Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleading teams cheer HOME VARSITY GAMES, but only Varsity travels to away Varsity games. The Junior Varsity, in turn, cheers for home JV games (usually on Mondays) but do not travel to away JV games.
