Dear Parent/Guardian: It gives me great pleasure to notify you of our upcoming Freshmen Orientation Day. The day is designed to familiarize our incoming freshmen with the high school building as well as ease their anxiety (and yours!) as they begin to prepare for those all-important high school years. Freshmen Orientation Day is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29th from 9:15 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Williamstown High School. Though we want the parents involved in the student’s education from day one, Freshman Orientation is for students only. I believe this program will significantly help students make a smooth transition from the middle school to the high school as well as make our freshmen more comfortable during the first days of high school. With these goals in mind, I sincerely hope that you will choose to have your son/daughter participate in our program. Enclosed please find a personal invitation for your son/daughter. If you would be so kind as to give your child this invitation, I would appreciate it. After the formal orientation program the Student Council and NHS will be hosting a “freshmen social”. The “social” part of the day starts immediately following orientation and lasts until approximately 1:30 p.m. A letter explaining the “social” is enclosed. Please plan on having your student attend both parts of our Fabulous Freshmen Day. Your son/daughter should also begin to consider a computer password that they will use daily. This password should be composed of 5 characters, one of which is a numeral. Students will be asked to complete a form the first day of school describing their password. They should therefore come to school on September 8 th prepared to give the password they have chosen. Unfortunately, transportation will not be provided for the orientation. The staff at Williamstown High School is very excited about offering this program to you. We hope you will take full advantage of the opportunity to get familiar with our terrific school. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding Freshmen Orientation Day please contact Mrs. Deeney in the Assistant Principals’ office at 262-2419. I look forward to working with you as we begin to help your child become a successful high school student. Sincerely,

David M. Babich Assistant Principal DMB:td Enc

July 26, 2017 Dear In-Coming Freshman: In a few short weeks, you will begin your high school career at Williamstown High School. The next four years will be both challenging and exciting. You will make new friends, meet new teachers, accept new responsibilities and make important choices that will affect the rest of your lives. The staff at Williamstown High School is fully prepared to assist you in setting your personal goals and helping you to achieve these goals. In order to help you make a smooth transition from the middle school to high school, we would like to invite you to our Freshmen Orientation Day, which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29th, 2017 from 9:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The orientation program is called Fabulous Freshman Day (students only) and will help you become familiar with the high school building as well as give you an opportunity to talk with our current students, pick up your class schedule and meet your teachers. Please take note: the high school has a dress code and it will be in effect. Please no flip-flops, tank tops, short shorts (finger-tip length), no hats and no ripped or tattered jeans. After the formal orientation program the Student Council and NHS will be hosting a “freshmen social”. The “social” part of the day starts immediately following orientation and lasts until approximately 1:30 p.m. The social allows you time to scout out your interests such as clubs, sports and extra-curricular activities as well as speak to upper classman and meet and greet with your new peers. Unfortunately, transportation will not be provided for the orientation. We hope you will plan to attend Fabulous Freshman Day on Tuesday, August 29th. We think you will find the program very helpful as you prepare to begin your Williamstown High School career. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Tina Deeney in the Assistant Principals’ office at (856) 262-2419. We look forward to meeting you personally and wish you the best as you prepare for a wonderful and fulfilling high school career.

Sincerely,

Mr. David M. Babich

WELCOME TO – WILLIAMSTOWN HIGH SCHOOL HOME OF THE “BRAVES” Dear Parent/Guardian: Freshman year is often one of two things for incoming students: marvelous or trying. Not only does a student have to fine-tune his or her study skills, he or she must learn how to get to each class, adjust to the various teachers, and find their own core group of friends. That is a lot to deal with and I have not even mentioned after school activities. The Frosh Social addresses each of these areas and will help answer any unanswered (or unasked) questions your child may have. We will feed them, give them some advice, and introduce them to all of our clubs and activities. The social starts immediately following the orientation program and will end approximately 1:30 p.m. The Frosh Social counselors are current members of Student Council, National Honor Society, and/or Renaissance and have gone through the trials and tribulations of high school, passing with flying colors. Teachers and Administrators will also be present to assist with the event.

Sending your child to the Frosh Social will definitely pay off over their next four years and it only costs $5. If you would like your student to attend, please send $5 (check or money order) along with this completed form to the WHS Main office c/o WHS Student Council. You can either mail it or bring it to the office. Please respond by August 19, 2017. Please note: Students must register to attend. Students will not be permitted entrance to the social without prior registration and payment.
