The board discussed starting a clinic for defenders. In the winter, Soccer Extreme would like to move practices to the school gyms and change the format to futsal. Nancy and Ben will work together on gym space. Fundraising: Prasad presented the board with a document that outlined a draft of his Strategy and Action Plan. The WSA does not have to need for extensive fundraising. It would be more beneficial to have sponsors and/or partnerships so the WSA can provide additional programs with no cost to the players. The following ideas were presented- have a company sponsor functional clinics, purchase pinnies for tryouts, or jerseys for the K-2 program, have local food trucks at Allen’s for the Saturday games or at other fields. BOARD UPDATES President – Tracy Scarfi:  The Soccer Extreme and Mickey Kydes contracts were signed. Soccer Extreme is a 4 year contract and Mickey Kydes is a 3 year contract.  Parks and Rec is moving forward with the two new turf fields. The fields will be privately funded and all sports teams will be expected to contribute to the cost and maintenance. The locations will be Allen’s 5/6 and North field.  The Ambler fields are now called Hurlbutt fields and the town is looking at more space for parking.  Michelle Barbieri will be stepping down as VP Girls Travel in November 2017.  Create a Referee Coordinator board position to work with the field assignor and ensure ref background checks and field assignments are running smoothly. The board discussed having one person as the Tournament/Ref coordinator. Treasurer – Tony Palumbo: There is $310,000 in the bank. Tony will work with Jerry Hendricks to transition the Treasurer role. Intramural K-2 – Joanna Lepore None

Team Warrior – David Loughran Tracking registrations and will work with Soccer Extreme on an evaluation day. The first games will take place on September 16. VP Girls Travel– Michele Barbieri After tryouts 197 offers were made and there were only 9 declines. Only issue is the U14/15 White team with 14 players for the fall (1 injured player). The team with 20 offers has 18 registered players. There was a system glitch in the League Athletics website, which resulted in players with a HOTMAIL account not receiving offer emails. VP Boys Travel-George Cross Overall there were 20 declines after offers were sent to players. After the offers were sent there were many questions and concerns from parents. The 2005 White team will need 100% participation to field a team. Fundraising – Prasad Iyer Discussed as agenda item. Tryouts/Supplementals – Jayme Casey: None Fields & Operations – Gabe Tully: None Web Director – Michelle Haggerty There are many issues with League Athletics website. Hotmail and AOL account users are not receiving emails and this impacted the travel offer process. The group discussed using a different system for sending travel offers in the future. A summary of all registrations will be listed on the WSA homepage. Legal Counsel – Carol Faherty: None Secretary – Jeanne Cronin: None Registrar- Nancy Ward: New players are set up with their pictures and birth certificates. Nancy can start printing player passes. Some pictures are outdated and players should submit a more recent photo. Meeting adjourned at 9:23pm Minutes submitted by Jeanne Cronin
