~ Patricia Pressler, Instructor ~ Crazy Quilting Goes Modern! All Day $30 Plus supplies In this fun class, Patricia will show you the methods she used to construct her latest quilt “Crazy goes Modern”. These contemporary blocks are constructed entirely on the sewing machine, but yet have a vintage appearance not unlike the traditional crazy-quilted, quilted hand-worked methods. You will be making a small wall hanging/table runner, using non-traditional fabrics (men’s neck ties, etc) lots of bling and glitter, free-hand machine embroidery, and whatever else enters into your creative sphere. There are no hard-and-fast rules on this, so you will be able to unleash your ideas without fear of mistakes! Class is limited to 8 students, so reserve your space early. Sign them up for this camp. They will have fun learning the basics of sewing while making a fleece pillow, pillow case and tote bag. We welcome boys as well as girls. Come refresh your sewing skills as you make lounge pants and a backpack bag. Rental machines are available for use in class. Stop by the store to see the samples and pick up a supply list. We will be making the Lemonade Layer Cake throw which will be 48” x 61” finished. Students will learn to use a rotary cutter and ruler, machine quilt, put binding on the edges and make a label for the back. Drop by the store to see a sample and pick up a supply list. Bring a sack lunch please. June 27, 28, 29, 30 --- 9am – 3:30pm July 11, 12, 13, 14 --- 9am – 3:30pm
Class Policy Have you always wanted to take a class, but didn’t want to bring your machine? We have several machines available for you to rent in our classroom. Please make arrangements in advance.
Pre-registration is a must. A deposit of ½ the class fee is required when your register. Make checks payable to Silver Thimble Sewing Center. If there is any other class you would like offered or for more information, please contact us at 308-284-6838. 1. Pre-registration is a must for all classes. 2. You are not considered enrolled until you have paid the class fee by check, cash or credit card. 3. All fabrics for the class need to be purchased at Silver Thimble. 4. You will receive 10% discount on all class purchases. 5. If you must cancel a class, you will receive a refund only if you cancel three days before the class is scheduled to meet. 6. Silver Thimble reserves the right to cancel a class when there is insufficient enrollment. 7. Classroom machines are available for rent, but you must reserve one at the time of enrollment. 8. Please have your machine in good working condition, bobbins filled and ready to sew.
