It may include a halt, trot fence, simple change of lead through trot etc. **Special Handy Hunter “give-it-a-go” classes 7&15 are for the 17 June show only. Guidelines for Equitation and Handy Hunter can be found on our website www.showhunterwaitemata.co.nz or in the ESNZ Show Hunter Information Booklet https://www.nzequestrian.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/show-hunter-information.pdf You may only ride one mount in one Equitation class. Pony riders age as of 1 August 2017. The committee reserves the right to alter the program, combine or divide classes, or alter fence heights. Approved helmets must be worn when riding at all times. All competitors and spectators enter at their own risk and must be familiar with the Health and Safety Policies of both Show Hunter Waitemata and Woodhill Sands Equestrian Centre. NO DOGS allowed on the property (even in cars/ trucks) Refunds: 80% of class fees will be refunded with a doctors/ vet certificate or at the discretion of the Show Hunter Waitemata Committee. SERIES POINTS PRIZES     

Overall prizes will be awarded for 1st-4th place in overall Winter Series. Points are accumulated from hack/pony combinations in all classes except Equitation 1st=6 points, 2nd=4 points, 3rd= 3 points, 4th= 2 points, 5th= 1 point. Points only awarded on scores of 50% or above. Equitation Cups to be awarded to rider with most overall points in Equitation classes. Prize giving for Winter Series will be held mounted on the last day of the winter series: 4th August 2018. Note: First place winning combination of previous winter series are not eligible for overall series points prizes.

SHOW HUNTER WAITEMATA HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY Show Hunter Waitemata in conjunction with Woodhill Sands Equestrian Centre is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy event for all participants, supporters and spectators. We will take all practicable steps by:    

Providing a safe event, safe equipment and proper materials Identifying and monitoring hazards and using the hazard management hierarchy of eliminate, isolate or minimize Insist upon establishment of safe methods and best practices Comply with all H&S legislation, regulations and codes of practice

We will take responsibility for health and safety procedures, however, ALL PEOPLE AT THE EVENT need to be aware of their responsibilities and comply with the event’s health and safety policy. COMPETITORS will be responsible for themselves at ALL times by observing safe practices and rules/instructions relating to their competition. Every person involved in an event run by Show Hunter Waitemata is encouraged to play a vital and responsible role in maintaining a safe and healthy event through:         

Being involved in the event health and safety system Following correct procedures Safe and proper use of equipment Wearing protective clothing and equipment as and when required Reporting any pain or discomfort as soon as possible Ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported Helping new participants, helpers and visitors to understand the right safety procedures and why they exist Informing the office immediately of any health and safety concerns Keeping the event facilities tidy to minimise the risk of any trips and falls.
