Bird Box Making During the breeding season birds need places to nest. With our help you can build some of them a perfect home! So come along and make your own bird box to encourage wildlife into our woodlands. Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm Guided Walk Come and take in the beautiful scenery of Corby’s Hazel and Thoroughsale woodlands. This 30 minute circular walk will put a spring in your step and reconnect you with our ancient woodland. Difficulty: Easy Time: 10:00am Forest Tales A dark forest, tall, twisted trees, the wind rustling in the leaves, shadows and hidden paths. Come and discover the magic of storytelling in a woodland setting and “live” the stories that will sometimes make you look over your shoulder, other times laugh out loud. Stories suitable for 7-12 year olds All children must be accompanied by an adult Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pm

Rediscover the Lost Art of Storytelling Bring a rug or something to sit on, and delight in the simple pleasures of listening to stories, in a forest in the open air. Suitable for families with children of any age Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm Story Time for Adults and Tots Come and listen to silly stories, sing and dance and join in with rhymes... all in the outside, under the trees. Bring a rug or something to sit on and let’s all have fun together. Suitable for adults or carers and children up to 4 years of age Time: 1:00pm - 1:30pm and 2:00pm - 2:30pm Forest School Taster Corby Forest School is an inspirational process that offers children regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands on learning experiences in a local woodland environment. Come and enjoy a taster Forest School session in Hazel and Thoroughsale Woodlands and experience a wide range of Forest School activities from shelter building and campfires to minibeast hunting! Suitable for children age 7+ - accompanied by an adult Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm Guided Walk Come and take in the beautiful scenery of Corby’s Hazel and Thoroughsale woodlands. This 1 hour circular walk will put a spring in your step and re-connect you with our ancient woodland. Difficulty: Medium Time: 10:00am Folklore Hazel and Thoroughsale Woods are an ancient woodland in the heart of Corby. Come and spend time wandering around the paths and glades listening to stories about the area, the trees, the flowers and wildlife. Open to any age group Time: 3:00pm - 4:30pm

An Introduction to Woodcraft Skills Perhaps one of the most fluid and varied skill sets, Woodcraft encompasses tool use, knowledge of the forest and the materials found within it. During the course of both sessions you will learn how to use several different types of tool and be given lots of ideas for projects to take away with you. You will also begin a carving project that you will be able to complete at home. Suitable for children age 9+, children must be accompanied by an adult (maximum of 20 per session) Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm First Session 1:00pm - 3:00pm Second Session

Difficulty: Medium Time: 10:00am Minibeasts and Pond Dipping Your mission (should you accept it) is to discover, explore and help us to improve our ancient woodland, Hazel and Thoroughsale. To complete your tasks you will borrow one of our special explorer packs, filled with tools needed for the job! Tasks will include pond dipping, bug hunting and animal tracking! Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm
1st September Habitats A habitat is a place where a plant or animal lives and this workshop will focus on what type of animals and plants can be found in a woodland environment. Specifically targeted at children age 6+ they will enter the creepy crawly world of insects and bugs. See how many you can find! Time: 10:30am - 12:00pm
