Spring 2015 Evaluation/Tryout - March 7th tryouts10-3. Mandatory try out. If unable to attend and showed for fall tryouts, would use fall score.
President – Mike Sampson Have received a few emails about try outs encouraged them to attend Need 2015 Volunteer Forms Spring Registration is open Cheryl to resend email District Meeting Tues 2/10 @ 7pm, Willimantic Elks Club (minor league playing rules will be discussed) Mike will attend Vice President – Karen Marshall Nothing to report at this time. Treasurer – Bob Borski Mike reports ~$10k in bank still Fundraising Director – Pat O’Brien Status of Spring Raffle $1000 for gift certificates with gift for kid that won 3 different prizes winner pick 1st , 2nd 3rd motion $1000 to use for purchase of fund raiser items approved. Keith Barns to assist Prepare/send business donation request letters wait for a month or so Bat man available to sell bats again this year as fundraiser to be scheduled for opening day Player Agents – Brian Murphy and Adam Leveille Offseason clinics remaining dates: Mon 2/9 (5:30pm-7:30pm), Fri 2/20 (6:00pm-8:00pm), Fri 3/6 (6:00pm-8:00pm) – need coaches/volunteers about 20 kids each time , email Adam if coaches can be there Spring 2015 Evaluation/Tryout send out another email Cheryl Safety Officer – Jeff Marcotte 2015 Safety Plan Update reports wood bats not allowed need to change that along with clinic and first aide training. Building & Grounds – Mike GelhausSKIPPED WILL DISCUSS AT UPCOMING MEETINGS Spring cleanup projects (resurface softball bleachers, paint concession stand interior, install pitching mounds for baseball bullpens) Flagpole (Ken Staveski has flagpole/needs location) Unfinished Business from December meeting Equipment Review – set date for equipment inventory at field – volunteers needed March1st at field, noon. Purchasing – need prices for new bases, PA equipment?, pitching rubbers/home plates for baseball bullpens, privacy wrap for dugouts, team bats, uniforms Justin to take note of what is needed Raffle items/donations when out and about just mention called a chance Refrigerator/microwave for concession stands Jeff to still follow up New Business Need to recruit Volunteer coaches and umpires . Cheryl to send email for coaches for minor free training available. Keith has some kids lined up for umpires Big Al’s Coaching Clinic – Sat 3/14, Killingly High School, 8:15am-12:30pm (coaches of players 9-13 yrs), 12:45pm-4:30pm (coaches of players 4-8 yrs) Opening Day – need date/format, etc. Saturday April 18th bat guy, have all teams play on opening day, schedule 2 or 3 inning games for all. 9am opening day.
