Rule changes for the 2018 livestock show:
No animals or tack will be allowed to leave until the completion of cattle showmanship No grooming in wash racks and only cattle allowed in cattle wash racks. Each booster club will be responsible for obtaining five items (on a larger scale) to be used in the silent auction. Auction items will be turned in on February 9th with entries. Items will be on display beginning Sunday and sheets will be gathered during the grand steer drive.

Premiums offered are open to regularly enrolled FFA members from Woodward County school and Woodward County 4-H members, as well as 8 year old third graders. All 4-H exhibitors must be a 4-H member by January 1st. Exhibitors eligible to show at the Woodward County Livestock Show must only participate in one county show. If any questions arise about eligibility, you must contact your Ag Ed Instructor or the OSU Extension Center. Exhibitors must be academically eligible the opening day of the show in order to show as determined by exhibitor’s school and the OSSAA. Livestock exhibits of academic ineligible exhibitors can not be shown.

Registration papers must be presented for purebred heifers as defined by national association. No distinction will be made between low and high percentage heifers. Commercial heifers will be weighed and classes broke on weight. Steers and barrows shown at the Woodward County Livestock Show will not be required to have association registration papers or breeder’s certificates. English breeds of cattle must show no evidence of crossbreeding. All crossbred cattle will be shown as All Other Breeds. Steers weighing under 901 pounds will be shown as prospect steers. A Champion and Reserve Champion Prospect Steer will be selected.
Rules and Regulations along with Code of Ethics governing the Oklahoma Youth Expo and 4-H and FFA Junior Livestock show will be followed at the Woodward County Junior Livestock Show unless stated otherwise in County Rules and Regulations. Woodward County livestock exhibitors must adhere to OYE Dress Code Standards. No more then a total of 2 prospect steers, 3 market steers, 2 heifers, 3 barrows, 3 gilts, 3 wether lambs, 3 breeding ewes, 3 wether goats, 3 breeding does, and 1 each of Commercial Pen of Stocker Steers and Heifers can be shown by any one exhibitor.
10. Prospect steers, doe goats and heifers must be owned and on feed by the exhibitor by January 15th. Market steers must be owned and fed by the exhibitor for 120 days. Market lambs, swine and wether goats must be owned and fed by the exhibitor for 90 days. Heifers must be registered and in the name of the exhibitor as of January 15th. Commercial heifer, market gilt and club lamb breeding ewe classes will be made available.
Exhibitors must accompany their animals to the show, care for them and exhibit them. In case of sickness, school class activities or other conditions making this impossible, the Extension Educator and/or Ag-Ed Instructors can give permission for other members from the same club or chapter to show.
12. Commercial pens of stockers may be of either, but not mixed sex. Commercial pens must have been entered last fall. Commercial stockers must have been born since January 1st of previous year.
Swine, sheep and goat exhibitors must furnish their own bedding. Wood chips only in barns. Soft muzzles may be used while in the pen. There will be no tie-out areas for show cattle. In no case will the Woodward County Junior Livestock Association, Woodward County Fairboard, Woodward County Commissioners or any of its agents, representatives or members be responsible for any accident or loss that may occur to the exhibitor, exhibit, personal property, or spectators. Anything arising not covered by the rules shall be decided by a committee of Extension Educators, Ag-Ed Instructors and Superintendents, whose decision shall be final.
11. Gilts: purebred must bring original registration papers, no copies will be accepted. Classes will be broke by breed and by age with commercial gilts showing last.
LAMB LEAD All entries due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9th into the OSU Extension Center using the same form as the Woodward District Show.
ENTRY RULES 1.
Contestants must be a 4-H or FFA member.

Junior Division: 9 to 11 years of Age, Intermediate: 12 to 14 years of age, Senior: 15 to 18 years of age as of February 23rd.

The garment(s) must be at least 60% wool and sewn by the contestant.

Wether or ewe can be lead in the class and must be trained to lead with a halter. Lamb can only wear a halter. Contestant does not have to own the lamb.

13. All exhibitors may return to compete for showmanship awards. Junior: 8 to 12 years of age, Intermediate: 13 to 15 years of age, Senior: 16 to 18 years of age. Age as of March 16th, 2018. Exhibits may not leave the fairgrounds facilities, after being entered, until released following each species’ show. 14. Failure by an exhibitor to follow these Rules and Regulations will result in disqualification and will forfeit all premiums and awards. 15. Each community is responsible for the cleaning of their own stalls in order to receive premiums.
