LAMB LEAD CONTEST Objective: To present the participant and animal in the most attractive manner possible, to promote the use of wool in apparel, and to improve the image of the lamb show. 1.
Each contestant must complete an entry form and submit it to the Woodward County OSU Extension Center no later than 5:00pm on Friday, February 6th, 2015. No late entries will be accepted after this date.

RULES AND REGULATIONS 1.
Premiums are offered to bona fide members of a 4-H Club or FFA Chapter, as well as third grade students who are eight years old (if an exhibitor is 9 years old as of January 1st they must be enrolled in a 4-H program to be eligible to show) from the following towns: Alva, Freedom, Waynoka and Aline-Cleo and schools in the counties of Beaver, Cimarron, Dewey, Ellis, Harper, Roger Mills, Texas, and Woodward.

Exhibitors must be academically eligible the day of the show in order to show as determined by exhibitor’s school and/or the OSSAA. Ineligible exhibitors and their animals can not show or be exhibited.
Vehicles must be removed from the area upon request of the show officials. 18.
Premiums paid on number of exhibits in the class will be as determined by the show officials.

Animals, which in the opinion of the superintendents that do not meet the breed characteristics in the class shown will be moved to the crossbred division.

FFA Chapters or 4-H Families exhibiting animals at any other 2016 district livestock show will be ineligible to exhibit at the Woodward District Junior Livestock Show.
Sheep and Wether lambs and barrows will be shown following the OYE format. Hair sheep will not be broken by breed, but shown together and will follow the same rules as wether lambs. A breed must have (4) or more exhibits in order for that breed to have its own breed show. Any breeds of barrows or wether lambs with less than (4) head will have exhibits moved to AOB class. If there is less than (4) in the AOB class then the AOBs will be moved into the

Doe goats will have two separate divisions. Wether dam goats must be slick sheered and bracing will be allowed. Breeding doe goats will not be allowed to brace,. The champion of the wether dam and breeding doe will be judged for the selection of overall doe goat.
Stall fees are $15 on goats, sheep & hogs, and $25 on steers and heifers. Entries are to be postmarked by Friday, February 12th to the Woodward Chamber of Commerce. Checks accepted from FFA Chapter or OSU Extension Center only. All exhibits entry information is to be provided electronically on the form provided, except weight. All swine premise ID information must be emailed in along with your entry information. Exhibitor may make a breed change upon arrival within a species. Classes will be made for all species of females without regard to number entered. Registered females will show by birth date listed on registration certificate. Commercial females will be shown by weight.

Any protest must be in writing and submitted to the show co-chairmen or show officials within one hour before a species starts to show accompanied with a $500.00 cash non-refundable deposit.

Each exhibitor is expected to have pens and alleys clean at all times. There will be absolutely no feeding or watering in the alley. No feeding or bedding down of exhibits outside the fenced area or in trailers.

District show animals will be weighed one time only during weigh-back. Steers and Commercial Heifers will have a 5% weigh-back allowance from individual entry weight. In each species the top end of each class will be weighed by Superintendents. Swine will be weighed in the show ring prior to premium being awarded.

Exhibitors must furnish their own bedding. Only wood chips may be used in barns, no straw, no tie-outs.

Schools or individuals parking livestock trailers, even if they are hooked up to a pickup, in restricted areas are subject to being disqualified from show, forfeiting premium money, and awards. You may enter south side of the barns

These remaining slots in the Premium Sale will be determined strictly on merit with no guarantee that a breed will have its breed champion as a representative in the sale.
Chamber of Commerce Agriculture/Livestock Show Committee will determine what breeds will be shown within a species. In most cases, the recognized breeds at the OYE will be shown.

A total of ninety-eight (98) animals will qualify for the Premium Sale:
breed champion would not be in the sale is because the exhibitor has a livestock exhibit determined to be higher in the Sale Order. A reserve breed champion barrow is not guaranteed a slot in the Premium Sale if the breed champion is not put into the Sale Order due to an exhibitor having a livestock exhibit higher in the Sale Order. The remaining slots in the Sale Order for barrows will be filled according to the formula based upon a percentage that takes into account the number of exhibits within the breed. Larger numbered breeds will have more exhibits in the Premium Sale compared to breeds with a small number of exhibits with the numbers mentioned being maximum number allowed into the sale.
All animals, with the exception of heifers and purebred ewes must be nominated for OYE in order to participate in
meeting the requirement of (6) steers, champions from the breeds with five or less along with remaining reserve breed champions will compete for the remaining slots toward the balance of (15) steers making the premium sale based on merit. Any breeds of steers with less than (4) head will have entries moved to AOB division. If there is not four in the AOB class then the AOB’s will be moved into the crossbred division.
All Grand Champions and Reserve Grand Champions will automatically be in the sale even if an exhibitor has more than one that qualifies. Otherwise an exhibitor can have only one livestock exhibit in the Premium Sale. Exhibits in the premium sale will be dictated by placement in predetermined Sale Order.
Not more than a total of 2 steers, 3 heifers, 3 barrows, 3 gilts, 3 wether goats, 3 doe goats and 3 wether lambs and 3 ewes can be exhibited by any one exhibitor. Exhibitors are expected to accompany their livestock to the show, care for them , and exhibit them, but in case of sickness or other conditions making this impossible, their animal may be shown by another club or chapter member from the same club or chapter by special permission of the show officials.
In no case will the Chamber of Commerce or its agents or representatives, the Woodward County Fair Board or any member of the Livestock Show Committee be responsible for any accident or loss that may occur to the exhibitor, his or her exhibit or other spectators.
Exhibits must be in place when entry cards are due or weigh-in begins and remain on the grounds until released after showing.

All premium sale animals must have OYE ear tag in place in order to be sold. Any animal in question will be DNA or ear notch verified.
