The Chitimacha Tribal High School is a Native American specific population school located on the Chitimacha sovereign lands in Charenton Louisiana. The design is planned around career and collage bound curriculum that will enable students to become contributing members of their own tribal community. The campus has three seperate buildings. Each buildings design represents a diraction and animal of the local medicine wheel to teach chitimatcha spirituality, values, and history.

The concept for HEJ is centered around the natural source of precious gems and stones. A cave-like space with protruding metal faceted walls. Safe fixtures are adorned with custom copper animal bone sculptures. Customers experience the exploritive excavation process while discovering their precious stones and gems.

An International student design competition put forth by the Institute of Store Planners challenged students to design a high-end jewelry retail space. Tasks included in- depth research, space planning, schematic design, branding, detailed fixture design, and three-dimensional rendering and perspectives using Autodesk VIZ.

A service learning project involving the city of Opelousas, LA and the main street program. Students were asked to generate ideas for the renovation of the Roos building located in the historical district of downtown Opelousas. Tasks included schematic design, space planning, three-dimensional hand rendering, materials and finishes selection, and board presentations. Designs were presented to the client as suggestions of how to develop the vacant space.

The community industry of cattle, produce and railway inspired a space for industrious gatherings. The entrance stairwell is made from railroad ties into the shape of bulls horns. First floor is an art gallery and community gathering center. Gallery walls are mobile offering versatile spacing. The second floor is a tapas bar celebrating the Spanish roots in the area. The building annex is a bookstore.

Design conceptualized with inspiration from atomic era. Workspace encourages a communty for collaboration. Central meeting area, stairs, and elevators join to display the hazard symbol representing the explosive nature of teamwork. Office furniture systems display an open yet personalized with a nod to mid-century design.

A hypothetical corporate office project for the global design consultancy IDEO. Students were asked to create an innovative design for the supposition new local headquarters in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Tasks included schematic design, space planning, custom component design, three-dimensional 3ds max rendering, materials and finishes selection, and board presentations.

Meichan Cultural Hotel

Ongoing project located in Hunan China that is dedicated to educating the public on the MeiShan people and their historic culture. No modern materials (glass, metal, plastic) were allowed. All furniture and lattice work is custom designed and was inspired by ancient Chinese pieces. LSU students communicated design ideas to students and professors at Hunan University, and received feedback through individual blogs. Tasks included site development, space planning, schematic design, three-dimensional rendering utilizing Autodesk VIZ, materials and finishes selections, and board presentations. ​Concept Building exterior mimics the headdresses of the Meichan minority people. Interior accents and build promotes a feeling of ancient living. Lobby depicts an authentic Chinese medicine shop. Component Designs Custom design jewelry case made from raw beach and cherry. Wood was joined, plained and split from ruff raw wood. No waste design utilizes every piece and scrap from raw wood. Structural system has drawers with sliding pulls wood slats.
