A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Supervisor What makes a great Supervisor? A practical, real life session that looks at the role of the supervisor, key supervisor knowledge, skills and competencies and common pitfalls. Communication Supervisors need strong communication skills. In this session we address using the right mode of communication, dealing with difficult people and customer service.

Budgeting This session will explain the mysteries of capital and operational budgeting and the various elements of a workshop budget.
Non Subscribing Organisation $ 598 / participant (inc GST) Fee includes the one day workshop, workbook, morning/afternoon tea and lunch.
Operational Planning One of the most important things a supervisor must do well it to plan. This session will look at the whole planning process and the practical application of this very important skill. It will look at matching staff and resources to operational requirements and the use of third party contracts.
Fleet Management Software The use of an electronic fleet management program is almost essential for the management of a modern day fleet. This session will provide an introduction to fleet management software and look at the opportunities that can be provided such as third party integration and the application of GPS in managing the fleet.

Steven Colliver, Manager Fleet Management Services, Western Plains Regional Council has been employed by Dubbo / Western Plains Regional Council for over 17 years. Steve has worked at four other councils ranging from McIvor Shire in Victoria to Nguiu Council on Bathurst Island in the NT. Steve has formal qualifications in mechanical engineering and has a Masters in Business Administration. He is currently the Chair of the IPWEA Fleet Council and is passionate about Fleet Management and the advancement of our profession. Andrew Railz, Manager Fleet Services of a large Regional Queensland Council: Andrew is an experienced fleet manager with 19 years’ Local government experience. Andrew is a trade qualified diesel fitter, has tertiary qualifications in Maintenance Management and has completed extensive fleet management training in the United States. Andrew is also the Deputy Chairperson of the IPWEA Fleet Council and is very keen to advance fleet management in Australia.
