What It Will Cost You Yale Public Schools

The number one question with a bond is “What will it cost me?” The following taxpayer cost analysis was provided by the Stephen L. Smith Corporation.

Improvements to YPS Bond Overview On January 13, 2015 the citizens of the Yale school district will have the opportunity to impact students at Yale Public Schools for years to come. Two bond issues will be on the ballot for your consideration.

Opportunities to Learn More An open to the public, informational meeting will be held on December 16, 2014 at 6:30 P.M. in the Homer Ray Homer Gymnasium. This meeting will provide an opportunity for you to ask our administration, the bonding company, and the architect questions you may have concerning the bond issues.

Why We Need This Yale Public Schools needs to pass this bond so we may continue to move forward and provide our students with the proper technology and an educational environment that is safe and conducive to positive outcomes.

The bond issues will provide for our students what we would not be able to purchase without the community’s support, and our students deserve our support.

Construction/Equipment Bond 

Build a cafeteria/auditorium/storm shelter between middle school and band building



Update technology infrastructure



Replace outdated heating/AC units



Repair the roofs at the elementary and high school buildings



Install new carpet in elementary and high school buildings



Replace timeworn lockers and classroom furniture in all buildings

Transportation Bond This bond will be used to purchase the following items:



One new agricultural education vehicle



Six new buses

Estimated Overall Tax Increase For every $100 paid in property taxes you will see a $14.46 increase per year. All registered voters in the Yale school district are eligible to vote in this election.

Bond Breakdown 

The overall cost of the bond is $2,630,000



The construction portion is $2,030,000.



The transportation portion is $600,000.

Cafeteria/Auditorium/Storm Shelter This building will be 7,026 sq. ft. and cost $135.86 per sq. ft. for a projected total of $1,118,007. 00
