New Classes for 7th and 8th Graders in 2016-2017 Several changes are occurring in the Hope School District, and some of the changes are in the form of classes offered to students. In the 2016-2017 school year, Accelerated Math 7 will be offered to seventh graders who want to take Algebra I in the 8th grade. Eighth Grade Algebra I will also be offered next year for 8th grade students who meet the Algebra Readiness Requirements. In addition, a coding class will be offered next year. Moreover, the school is attempting to get an EAST Lab class. Finally, school may begin each day next year with an enrichment/remediation. These a just a few of the changes in store.

Extra preparation for the ACT Aspire began on Thursday, April 21 as the school kicked off ACT Aspire Boot Camp. The math department has been focusing on functions and geometry in eighth grade and geometry in seventh grade. Science classes have worked on reading non-fictional text, writing, and interpreting graphs and charts. Literacy classes also had specific standards to address during the boot camp such as citing evidence. There will be a pep rally on Friday to celebrate the event. It will take the whole school doing their best to raise our school status. We need each and every one of our students to do their best on the tests.
