Film Synopsis An alien species called the Boov spends their existence running from the evil Gorg alien. They temporarily take over different planets in an effort to hide from the Gorg. When they come to planet Earth, they like to help the “simple” inhabitants by moving them to “Happy Human Town,” so they can take over the rest of Earth. However, in doing so they separate families. One particularly odd Boov, Oh, stumbles on one of the humans trying to find her family. In the midst of her quest, his past mistakes lead them to a journey of finding truth, forgiveness, friendship, courage, and selflessness.
DISCUSS: 1. QUESTION: What did you think when Oh came back to help Tip? What makes a good friend? Would you do that for one of your friends? Or siblings? Think about it – Proverbs 17:17, 1 Corinthians 15:33, Ecclesiastes 4:12 – Choosing good friends is so important. Finding a true friend that you enjoy common interests with and similar values can make a huge difference in your life. Finding a true friend is also nice because when we are discouraged or need help, they lift us up. And likewise, when we see that they need help, we can encourage them. When we serve and encourage others, even when it’s not convenient, we are serving the Lord. 2. QUESTION: What did you think when Oh was crushed by the Gorg’s ship? Why was he willing to give himself over to the Gorg? Who does this remind you of in the Bible? Think about it – Isaiah 53:5, John 3:16, Ephesians 5:1-2, 1 John 4:10 – God loved us so much that He gave Himself/His Son as a sacrifice to save all of us from eternal consequences. 3. QUESTION: Tip spends most of the movie teaching Oh about facing fear and overcoming situations that look too hard. Have you ever had fear of doing something that you know is right but seems too hard? Think about it – Isaiah 40:31, Joshua 1:9, Philippians 4:13, Acts 1:8 – Just as Paul and Joshua leaned on God’s strength through many trials, God promises the same strength for us when we follow and obey Him.
