PRO IT supports Australian Financial Market with Zadara On-Premise as-a-Service Storage PRO IT was founded in 1999 to provide an alternative to conventional IT support. As a service provider, they offer outsourced services to the Australian and multinational financial and media markets. While maintaining a core enterprise client base, PRO IT has expanded its capability to act as "smart hands" and "remote hands" for global and Australia / New Zealand service providers and technology vendors. With the growing market demand for cloud enablement, service providers are looking for specialist, qualified partners to deploy and support the associated infrastructure. PRO IT fulfills this niche by providing turnkey solutions with a personal, flexible and cost effective approach.
As their business grew, PRO IT faced some challenging requirements. First, they needed to provide an offering that addressed data sovereignty. Data needed to be stored in country and in many cases within the customer’s own data center. Many companies require their storage to be located within their own data center. However, they would like to deploy an as-a-service solution. Cloudbased storage solutions will not meet these data sovereignty requirements. Additionally, a traditional CapEx-based storage array does not offer the as-aservice capability these users require.

PRO IT researched the market and found only one vendor that could offer a Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS) solution with the flexibility of being in the cloud, on-premise and in hybrid configurations. The vendor was Zadara Storage. Another key requirement for PRO IT was to provide each of their customers with industry-leading Quality-of-Service (QoS) and predictable performance. Zadara Storage was able to address this requirement through their resource isolation capabilities. With the Zadara Storage Cloud architecture, each user or instance has dedicated resources, ensuring both predictable performance, but also the highest levels of security since one user’s data cannot come in contact with another user’s data. PRO IT has now been able to offer their customers a fully OpEx-based Storageas-a-Service solution in an on-premise model. This has allowed them to expand their offering into new services. They now offer Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS), Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS), and Dev/Test-as-a-Service.
