Sow thinly direct into finely raked, moist, warm soil at a depth of 13mm (½") (Germination usually takes 7-14 days). Thin seedlings to leave about 45cm (18") between plants. Grows best in moist, well drained soil in a sunny position. Harvest leaves through summer as required picking off flowers to boost leaf production. Leave flowers if needed for seed production. Harvest seed when hard and grey-green in colour.
