Requirements to be eligible for aid, practice, and competition for the upcoming year
4-4 Transfer (NCAA BYLAW 14.5.5) Must have attended the four-year institution full-time for at least one academic year (if not check qualifier status) Must have left previous school in good academic standing Needs to be eligible for exception transfer resident requirements (NCAA Bylaw 14.5.5.2.10) One-time transfer exception not applicable to basketball and baseball.
2-4 Transfer (NCAA BYLAW 14.5.4) NQ
NON-QUALIFIER
Graduate with an AA degree; AND Transfer to SIU a minimum of 48/72 degree transferable credit hours with a 2.500 transferrable GPA; AND Attend previous institution for a minimum of three semester/four quarters, excluding summer; AND Earns the following transferrable credits: 6 hours English, 3 hours Math, and 3 hours Science ***If the SA earns a 2.000 - 2.500 transferrable GPA they may be eligible for practice and aid only during their first year in residence at the certifying institution (no competition)

Minimum of one full-time semester academic residences, summer excluded; AND Average of 12 hours of transferrable degree credit per semester/quarter of full-time attendance; AND Minimum of 2.500 transferrable GPA
4-2-4 Transfer (NCAA BYLAW 14.5.6) Student shall complete one academic year of residence at SIU, unless he/she meets one of the following criteria. Has complete an average of at least 12 transferrable credits per semester at the JUCO following transfer from the most recently attended four year institution, with a cumulative GPA of 2.500 acceptable to any BA program at certifying institution AND One calendar year has elapsed since departure from the previous four year institution, AND The student has graduated from the two-year college. OR
If the PSA is returning to SIU and did not have an unfulfilled residence requirement at the time he/she transferred from SIU; no minimum standards are required to practice and receive aid. OR
Initial four year institution did not sponsor the PSA's sport on the intercollegiate level while the student was in attendance (and the PSA has since not atttended a four year institution that does sponsor competition in his/her sport): ALL TRANSFERS NOTE: Baseball and Basketball mid-year enrollees shall not be eligible for competition until the ensuing year.
