THE SERIES: In a series that dates to 1959, TCNJ leads 44-6-3. NJCU has won the last two meetings. LAST MEETING: October 4, 2008 in Ewing, NJ. NJCU won, 3-1. LAST TIME OUT FOR NJCU: The Knights gave #11 ranked Stevens a run for its money in Hoboken on Wednesday. The Ducks won, 1-0, on a wind-aided goal in the second half. On Monday, NJCU defeated Brooklyn on the road, 1-0. Jilmar Perez scored twice for the Knights. LAST TIME OUT FOR TCNJ: This will be the first game in a week for the Lions. On October 3, TCNJ lost 6-0 at home to #1 ranked and defending national champion Messiah College. ALL OR NOTHING: In the seven games NJCU has won or tied, it has scored 44 goals—the most by any team in the NJAC this year. However, in NJCU’s five losses, the Knights were shutout each time. Meanwhile, TCNJ’s 14 goals in 11 games are the least in the league. Defensively, these two clubs have allowed the most goals in the conference—NJCU, 24, and TCNJ, 17. 1966 REVISITED: Prior to today’s game, NJCU will honor its outstanding 1966 men’s soccer team, which went 9-1-1. Included in that group are NJCU Athletic Hall-of-Famers Tom Briscoe and Tom Sereika. McNULTY REDEDICATED: NJCU will also rededicate the Robert L. McNulty Field prior to today’s game. The Knights are playing for the first time this year in the main stadium. Before 2009, NJCU’s home soccer field was the area adjacent to the baseball complex.
