Why We Play-MSHSL

https://youtu.be/rFW9kS87DUQ

I use my energy and love of the game as my leadership skills for our team. My team is my family and the work we do together will turn to success in our contests.

Elsie Johnson Senior-Soccer/Track and Field

I play for the love of my sport; show leadership through my actions, my attitude, and my enthusiasm for both academics and athletics.

Amanda Anderson Senior-Track and Field and Volleyball

Expectations to be a Saint… Be solid citizens at all times  in the classroom  in the community  at home  During your sport/activity  Never embarrass yourself, your teammates, your parents, or your program.

Expectations to be a Saint…

•Be positive role models for the younger “Saints” in our programs by being visible and active in the community in a positive way.

•Be dedicated to a healthy lifestyle and conditioning.

Why are your athletes out for a sport? • The practice field or contest is the last classroom of the day • Sports gives kids an opportunity for connection that can help embrace life long learning

• I wish I had… I could have…if I only had… (regrets)

Why are you out for Athletics? •Responsible: being dependable; someone others can count on

•Self-Disciplined: taking control of myself •Flexibility: adapting to change and the stress created by it

•Toughness: dealing with adversity, when things aren’t going my way I keep striving

Why are you out for Athletics? •Courageous: responding or performing in spite of fear or lack of confidence

•Commitment: putting forth my full effort; Being accountable to more than just myself

•Focus: keeping my attention on the task or goal

•Persistent: sticking with the job until it is finished; Give my best effort
