2016 Rancho Roundup Tournament Information Thank you for participating in the 2016 Ranch Roundup Friendly Tournament. Our event is designed to be somewhat of a “warmup” tournament since it’s so early in the All Star season. As such, the format is slightly different than other tournaments. All teams will get a minimum of four games, and the top two teams in each division will get to participate in an “And 1 game”. We will have 1st and 2nd place trophies for those two teams in each division. All teams will get “player of the game medals” to hand out to a player of their choice on the opposing team for the 4 pool games. This year’s event promises to be a competitive, fun start to all-‐stars season. President: Christine Tanioka

At Trabuco Mesa Park we ask that you observe and respect that it is located in a residential area and you are required to abide by parking restriction signs, and we ask that you be sensitive to noise, parking and trash in the area. Parking at Wagon Wheel can be difficult. There is a main parking lot at the lower end by the baseball fields and additional parking up top at Wagon Wheel Elementary School. However, both of these lots are not enough parking for our tournament plus whatever the local little league has going this weekend. You might want to consider arranging to drop players/equipment off and carpool with other families to park at the access road to Tesoro High School. Here’s a link…

Please check-‐in one hour prior to your first game at whichever field you play at first and bring your team roster (we will proved a template) and proof of league/team insurance. You will pick up the “player of the game medals” at check-‐in. Schedules will be posted at www.rtgsa.org and at venues. Team listed first will occupy the third base dugout. The home team in each game is the official scorekeeper. Home team will be determined by a coin toss at the pre-‐game meeting. The umpire will have a game card to report game scores to the tournament director. Each team should verify the accuracy of this card, along with the official scorekeeper. All 8U games are 6 innings unless time limits described below are reached prior to the completion of six innings. All other games are 7 inning games unless time limits described below are reached prior to the completion of seven innings. No new inning will start after 1:15, drop dead at 1:25. In the event of reaching drop dead, score will revert to last completed inning unless home team has tied or taken the lead in inning when time is called. Games may end in a tie. The schedule is tight, so please clear the fields/dugouts as quickly as possible after the game. If your game ends at or close to the 1:25 mark, please arrange with opposing coach to do Player of the Game Medal ceremony off the field so we can get the field ready for the next game. In “And 1 games” no new inning will start after 1:30 minutes, and Tie Break Rule will be used if tied after regulation. In each division, after the four round robin games, the teams with the top two records will play in the “And 1 game”. Records will be determined by: 1: Won/loss record 2: Head to Head 3: Least Runs Allowed 4: Most Runs Scored
5: Combined Record of Opponents 6: Coin Flip ASA mercy rule is in effect: 15 after 3, 12 after 4 and 8 after 5. There will be no protests permitted. All umpires decisions will be final. Sliding is allowed in all divisions, and is required to avoid all collisions. Managers and coaches are responsible for their team, staff and fans both on and off the field. Unruly behavior will not be tolerated. Improper conduct during games or anywhere on the premises may result in team disqualification. Games will be played under ASA rules except for: 1: Time limits mentioned above 2: There is a 4 run limit per inning in 8U games, a 5 run limit per inning in 10U games, and a 6 run limit for 12U and 14U divisions. Remember, this is a “friendly warmup” tournament. 3: Round robin batting is required for all teams, all divisions. Free substitution on defense. 4: Courtesy runners are allowed for the pitcher and catcher of record. Last recorded outs are used for courtesy runners. Also, an injured player may get a courtesy runner once. If she needs to leave the bases a second time an out will be recorded, and she cannot return to that game. 8U modified rules: 1: No dropped third strike 2: No infield fly rule 3: Base stealing-‐ One base per pitch. No stealing home (home plate frozen). 4: NO coach pitch. Walks are allowed. 5: Teams may play with four outfielders
