Rookies Tournament 2016 Rules and Information June 4-5, 2016 Check-in Teams must check in at the Tournament Head quarters at the site of their first game, Dunning, Rice/Arlington, McMurray or Battle Creek. If your first game is at Concordia College check in at Dunning. If your first game is at Washington High School or Rice and Lawson Fields, check in at Rice/Arlington. You must provide an ASA , NAFA or USSSA roster (or equivalent for Canadian teams) at check-in time. PLAYING RULES ASA Rule Book will be Used Metal Spikes allowed as outlined in the ASA rule book. Time Limit: 1 hour and 15 minutes—no new inning may start after 1:15 has elapsed. On Saturday a game tied at the end of the time limit or 7 innings remains a tie. On Sunday the International tie-breaker rule will be used if a game is tied at the end of seven innings or the time limit has expired. 10 run rule in effect after 5 innings for 12-U through 18-U 15 run rule in effect after 4 innings for 12-U through 18-U Balls will be provided. Teams may bat their entire roster if they choose. If one team opts to do this the opponent does not have to follow suit. It’s a decision of each individual team. It is recommended that teams bat everyone. 10 and 12 and Under teams MUST bat their entire roster throughout the tournament. If a team is batting the entire roster and an injury occurs, when the players turn to bat comes up, just skip her and move on to the next player, NO OUT IS CHARGED. If an injury occurs to a team batting 9 players, (including using the flex/D.P. rule)

the player must be replaced. If there are no subs the team may play with 8 players. When the injured players turn to bat comes up, just skip the spot and go to the next player. NO OUT IS CHARGED. Umpires will hand in score cards from your games but it is your responsibility to make sure scores are reported correctly. Check the boards at your location. The following procedure will be used to determine pool standings and for bracket seeding: Won-Lost Record Head to Head results Fewest runs allowed Most runs scored Coin flip Note: When your pool finishes play on Saturday you should be able to determine when and where you play your first game on Sunday. Check the bracket board area before you leave in case changes have been made. Dunning, Battle Creek, McMurray and Rice and Arlington all have Site Managers and Umpire-in Chiefs present SPECIAL RULES FOR 10-UNDER: Teams may score only 5 runs per inning. Teams may steal all bases and home. A player may advance to 1st base on a dropped 3rd strike provided the base wasn’t occupied at the time of the pitch, unless there were two outs, then the player may advance to first, per the rule book. For 10-U the following run rule will be used 10 after 5, 12 after 4 and 15 after 3 WE UNDERSTAND THAT SOMETIMES TEAMS NEED TO MOVE FROM ONE FIELD OR SITE TO ANOTHER (Concordia to Dunning for example) PLEASE DO THIS AS QUICKLEY AS POSSIBLE. WE WILL WAIT FOR YOU. UMPIRES WILL BE MADE AWARE OF THESE SITUATIONS.
