Meeting called to Order – 7:00PM
Purpose Miscellaneous topics per BOD Agenda dated March 23, 2016.
Attendance: Present Robert Higdon,Tom Pascuccio, Rob Gizmunt, Tony Martinho, Mark McEwen, Glen Grabau, James Delaney, Steve Drzewiczewski, Walter Radulski, Peter Groussis, Brian Caulfield, Chris Papagikas, Drew Lucich, Matt Monkiewicz, Billy Giannasca,
District 1. No Update
Clinic Update – Robert Higdon/Jimmy Delaney 1. High School will run a three(3) day clinic during April Vacation. Probably Mon/Wed/Fri(April 18, 20, & 22). from 1-4PM at the High School Field. Will only be open to league age 12 and under, Cost will be $50.00 for all 3 days or $20.00/per day. We will split the proceeds with the High School. There will be another event for Big Diamond age kids to practice with the High School team to be coordinated by Bob Tashjian 2. Voted to Split Proceeds or provide payment of minimum of $1,000.00. 3. Voted to make Miscellaneous donation to the High School Team of $200.00 for their banquet.
Open Director Positions 1. Still Need TBall Director, Summer Baseball Director, and Fall Ball Director 2. Tee ball has 86 kids as of meeting with 8 to 9 potential managers. Still need a Tee Ball director.
Draft Update 1. Double A and Single A drafts are complete 2. Single A managers are Mark McEwen, Eric Chisolm, Craig McEachern, Guy Cioffi, Bob Marino, and TBD
Miscellaneous Items 1. Manager Update – Need to stay on CORI’s up to team’s respective managers to make sure everyone is CORI’s through Rob Gizmunt 1. CORI FORMS – continue to be run by Rob Gizmunt 2. PARADE – Discussion on whether or not to hold a parade. Billy Giannasca to reach out to volunteers that have expressed an interest in helping with the parade. Decision will be made by April 12, 2016 whether or not we will have a parade or not. 3. COACHES – Separate Meeting will be held with coaches prior to season, Tony Martinho will address. 4. PRACTICE SCHEDULE – Continues to be both weather dependent and contingent on fields being ready - ongoing 5. WOBURN MEMEORIAL DAY TOURNAMENT– available if someone wants to pursue in various age groups. Competitive tournament that needs competitive entries. 6. SCHEDULE – Template of Major Schedule was handed out at end of meeting. 15 games. To be reviewed and updated. 7. UMPIRE SCHEDULE – Need Majors and Minors schedules finalized before Umpire Schedule can be finalized. Also need Double AA schedule finalized so that Walter/Tash can finalize non-patched umps. 8. EQUIPMENT – Giz to coordinate distribution
Field Update 1. Spring Clean-Up will be on April 2, 2016, with a rain date of April 9, 2016. 2. League release Armstrong Fence to fence in dugouts at 3 fields - $7,840.00 – Approved unanimously 3. Motion to approve list generated by Rob Higdon for items needed to begin season $4,500.00 – Approved unanimously 4. Motion to approve Dolly’s for pitching machines currently at Giz’s garage – Approved unanimously 5. Motion to approve field fertilization through TruGreen - $800.00 – Approved unanimously
6. Continuing dialogue to find out what the Town will do at fields and what the maintenance plan will be.
Communication and Fundraising 1. Brian Caulfield prepared a fundraising letter that is being mailed out to approximately 200 Lynnfield Businesses 2. Field Clean Up email to be sent for April 2, 2016 as the cleanup date with April 9, 2016 as the rain date 3. Hat Sponsorships need to be in as soon as possible as uniforms need to be released from Noe.
