February 11 Winter House Plant Care Cindy Muro Join us as the head of the greenhouse at Mohonk Mountain House teaches us how to expertly care for those house plants through the winter and year round. Bring your house plant questions and get answers! Instructor: Cindy Muro, consummate propagator and grower of all things flora, is Mohonk’s Greenhouse and Garden Shop manager. She is in her 14th year of growing beautiful plants for the Mountain House and gardens. February 25 Vegetables from Seed: Spring through Fall Barbara Bravo and Stephanie Perkins Every year we are inundated with seed catalogs and alluring displays of seed packets at our favorite garden centers. Learn to base your choices on proven varieties for the northeast and basic information such as starting your own plants vs. buying, selecting seed starting equipment, using cold frames, and tips on warming up the soil for spring planting and extending the season.
March 10 Small Fruit Pruning Jim O’Connell Early spring is the best time to prune most small fruit, blueberries, raspberries and grapes. Learn the techniques to produce bigger and better berries. Instructor: Jim O’Connell is an Ulster County CCE Educator based mostly at the CCE Fruit Lab in Highland with an expertise in small fruit. He primarily works with commercial growers in the Hudson Valley and is also very knowledgeable about growing cranberries.

Instructor: Master Gardener Volunteer Cecily Frazier is a retired teacher who has enjoyed all the opportunities Instructors: Barbara Bravo is a Master Gardener for learning involved in being Volunteer, Garden Coach and ceramic artist. She is a Master Gardener. She a frequent speaker at Garden Day and local events. grows bulbs all year long: Barbara has planted and maintained ornamental and saffron crocus in fall, and for vegetable gardens at her home and studio for more spring bloom, daffodils, than 25 years. Stephanie Perkins is a Master snowdrops, even tulips (when Gardener Volunteer and life-long gardener who she feels she can manage an recently retired and devotes herself full time to her end run around the deer!) passion for gardens and dogs.
