Dianne Buckner Host CBC Dragon’s Den Dianne Buckner thoroughly enjoys hosting Dragons' Den. "I don't know what's more fun," she says, "Spending time with the Dragons--they're just as entertaining and impressive off the air--or meeting all the brave and creative entrepreneurs who come to pitch!" Dianne Buckner brings a natural curiosity along with years of experience to her position with CBC News. For 10 years, she hosted the popular current affairs program Venture, eventually becoming the show's executive producer, as well. From there, Buckner went on to co-create Fortune Hunters, a magazine show on CBC Newsworld that focused on entrepreneurship. And since 2006, she has hosted CBC's popular reality show Dragons' Den. Prior to her time with CBC, Buckner spent five years at CTV, where she co-hosted the consumer affairs program Live It Up!, and was backup host for Canada AM. Buckner's work has taken her to Australia, the Netherlands, Japan and Iceland; she's interviewed prime ministers, as well as celebrity CEOs, such as Jack Welch and super-investor Warren Buffett. Buckner has also worked in print journalism, writing book reviews for The Globe and Mail, and a weekly column for the Metro chain of newspapers.

Marcus Turner, CFA, FRM Director and Senior Investment Consultant, Willis Towers Watson Marcus Turner is Director, Senior Investment Consultant in the Investment Consulting line of business of Willis Towers Watson. Among other responsibilities, Marcus helps large Pension Plans and Foundations explore Delegated Investment Service n the Canadian market. Marcus has over 10 years of investment consulting experience and consults on a wide variety of issues including implemented OCIO solutions, asset allocation strategy, and investment structure optimization. He has worked with a variety of clients including Pension Plans, Foundations and Municipalities with assets ranging from $100 million to over $5 billion. Prior to his investment consulting experience he had the opportunity to work in the investment management area of a large multinational insurance company where he was responsible for building and running the institution’s proprietary trading desk. Marcus graduated from the University of Toronto with a major in economics. He is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals. Marcus is currently the Programming Chair of the Toronto CFA Board and was formerly Chair of the CFA Portfolio Management Committee. He also chairs the Risk Management Subcommittee of PMAC. Marcus specializes in alternative asset class research and has expertise in assessing currency, infrastructure and private equity managers as well as trends and developments in these asset opportunities. A frequent industry speaker, he has spoken on the role of infrastructure in pension portfolios and how to assess managers in this rapidly evolving space.
