2017Manager/Coach Application Please read and complete the following application form if you wish to be considered for a manager or coach position for Frederick County National Little League for the 2016 year. Frederick County National Little League can only be as successful as the strength of its parent and volunteer support. We recognize that our managers and coaches contribute a large amount of time and effort to enhance the experience within our organization. The goal of the Frederick County National Little League is to assist children in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork, and physical wellbeing. The roles of manager or coach as instructors and inspirations to our participants is paramount to creating the positive experience and team environment that FCNLL aspires to achieve. An applicant cannot be considered unless all of the following documents are received: 1. Complete manager/coach application 2. 201 Little League Volunteer or 2017 Little League Returning Volunteer Form (see our website to download) 3. A copy of applicant’s valid driver’s license or other government issued photo ID 4. 2017 Concussion Training completion certificate (this course must be taken every year and a new certificate submitted) The information provided in this application will be a determining factor in managerial assignments for FCNLL at all division levels. Submission of this application does not guarantee you will be selected as a Manager or Coach. Mandatory manager/coach meetings and clinics must be attended. Dates and times will be announced via our website, emails, text messages, and social media. Failure to attend the required meetings will result in disciplinary action from the FCNLL Board of Directors.

(please specify) Manager Commitment: As a manager for Frederick County National Little League you will be expected to meet these requirements: Attend Manager Meeting(s) prior to start of season. Participate in FCNLL functions such as Opening Day and our 100 Inning Game Fundraiser. Handle administrative requirements of the team. Attend tryouts and draft a team. Hold a team meeting prior to first practice. Take responsibility for equipment issued to you by FCNLL. Participate in Tournament Team and Manager selection. Learn and abide by Little League International Rules and Regulations, as well as FCNLL Local League Rules. Promote safety and sportsmanship. Encourage appropriate level skill improvement. Represent FCNLL in a positive manner at all times. Application to Coach and Authorization to Conduct Background Check Little League requires that background checks be completed for all Managers, Coaches, or Team Volunteers. The requirement of background checks is necessary to protect children from a hostile or unwelcome environment and from those who would sexually abuse or exploit children in any way. By submitting this signed application you authorize the FCNLL Board of Directors to conduct a background check, which will include a review of sex offender registries in all 50 states, child abuse and criminal history records, and checking with any players and/or their parents who have been on teams you have coached and/or managed in the past. In addition to this Manager Application, all documentation listed at the top of this application must also be completed and submitted. Completed applications will be reviewed by the FCNLL Board of Directors for approval and team assignments. Frederick County National Little League appreciates the importance of the Manager and Coach roles as positions of trust and responsibility in Little League. Acceptance of an appointment as a Manager or Coach in Frederick County National Little League constitutes a contract with the players, parents, other managers, other coaches, umpires, and league officials to demonstrate your appreciation of the philosophy of Little League and cooperation with others to ensure the program benefits all who participate.
