VOLLEYBALL CAMP STAFF HEAD COACH
AMANDA BERKLEY This will be Amanda Berkley's first year as head coach for the Loyola Ramblers. Prior to her arrival at Loyola, Berkley spent the past five seasons as the head coach at the University of Southern Mississippi. In her five seasons at Southern Miss she amassed a 104-59 (.638) overall mark and a 46-29 (.613) in Conference USA matches. She was named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Southweset Region Coach of the Year in 2016 and also earned the AVCA Thirty Under 30 Award in 2013. Berkley mentored five All-Conference USA players, the most in school history, in 2016 as the Golden Eagles earned the No. 2 seed for the conference tournament. She also led Southern Miss to a 24win season in 2015, the most since 2009. Under Berkley's tutelage, 12 players earned First or Second Team All Conference USA accolades, and she developed a pair of C-USA Libero of the Year award winners, as well as the 2016 C-USA Freshman of the year. Berkley is a native of Racine, Wisconsin. She began her collegiate playing career as a walk-on at the University of Wisconsin before earning a scholarship. As a defensive specialist for the Badger program, she helped UW to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight finish in 2005.
ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH DAVID BROWN David Brown is entering his first season as the associate head coach for the Loyola Ramblers. Prior to his arrival he spend the past four seasons on Berkley's staff at Southern Miss. There he helped the Golden Eagles to four 20win seasons. At Southern Miss, Brown served as the recruiting coordinator and technical coordinator. The 2013 graduate of the University of Wisconsin recruited the 2016 Conference USA Freshman of the Year and helped develop the 2014-2015 C-USA Libero of the year. Prior to his stint at Southern Miss, Brown spent a year as a volunteer assistant coach at UC Santa Barbara, playing a key role in the Gauchos winning the 2013 Big West Conference Tournament title and earning a NCAA Tournament bid for the first time since 2009
ASSISTANT COACH SONDRA PARYS Sondra Parys is entering her first year with Loyola. Prior to her arrival she spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Queens University of Charlotte and before that, as an assistant with the Citadel.
In addition to coaching a Division I program in the Citadel, Parys helped develop high school athletes in Charleston, S.C. As a head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Charleston Juniors Volleyball Club, Parys created strength, conditioning and skills clinics that focused on moving her athletes to the college level. A player of the game, Parys was a four year letter winner for the University of Toledo's volleyball team. She was named to the Mid-American Conference All-Freshman team, and made the freshman all-conference team and all-tournament team.
2018 CAMP INFO POSITIONAL DAY CAMPS HITTER CAMP
FEE: $100 AGE: GIRLS GRADES 5-12 TIME: JUNE 1ST: 9AM-4PM (LUNCH 12-1) This one day camp is designed for outside/pin and middle attackers. Here we will work on situational attacking with power and shot selection, passing platform mechanics and serve receive angles, along with hand placement and footwork. Middles will learn effecting attacking techniques both in front and behind the setter, correct blocking footwork and hand press, reading, approach angles, and eye sequencing. INCLUDES LUNCH AND CAMP T-SHIRT
SETTER CAMP
FEE : $100 AGE: GIRLS GRADES 5-12 TIME: JUNE 2ND: 9AM-4PM (LUNCH 12-1) This one day camp will focus on correct framing and strong release mechanics, jump setting in balanced positions, work on increasing offensive range, and also put an emphasis on defensive range and blocking. INCLUDES LUNCH AND CAMP T-SHIRT
LIBERO CAMP
FEE: $100 AGE: GIRLS GRADES 5-12 TIME: JUNE 3RD 9AM-4PM (LUNCH 12-1) 5IJT camp will focus on footwork and movement efficiency, along with increasing defensive range and understanding attack angles. Participants will learn serve receive platform mechanics and work on being able to take the second contact. INCLUDES LUNCH AND CAMP T-SHIRT
HIGH PERFORMANCE CAMPS I & II
FEE: $475 OVERNIGHT/ $425 COMMUTER AGE: GIRLS GRADES 5-12 TIME: JUNE 15-17TH (I) / JULY 14-16TH (II)
Rambler high performance camps are elite level camps for both developing and experienced players that will focus on making you a better player by improving technique, vision, and understanding of skill and strategy. These camps are designed to be a fun, intensive volleyball experience that will improve overall skill sets through quality instruction, demos, and in-depth feedback. Led by our knowledgeable coaching staff, you will have the opportunity to learn the same technique that is coached at the collegiate level. Repeat those skills in specifically designed drills, and apply them in competitive play. Campers will be split by age and skill level into teams that will train and compete together. OVERNIGHT & COMMUTER- INCLUDES MEALS
TEAM CAMP
FEE: $300 PER PERSON MINIMUM 10 PLAYERS ON A TEAM (INCLUDES HOUSING) $200 WITHOUT HOUSING AGE: GIRLS GRADES 8-12 TIME: JULY 6-8 The Loyola Team Camp is an elite level camp for experienced high school and middle school teams. Each team will be assigned a Loyola coach that will serve as the team's liaison for their stay. The camp will consist of personalized training sessions and competitive play. A camp tournament champion will be crowned at the end of day three. A TEAM DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED BY JUNE 22 TO SECURE A SPOT TEAMS WILL BE IN CHARGE OF THEIR OWN MEALS CAMPER
