Issue 32
25th May 2016
2 pages this week Half Term Just a reminder that school will finish at the normal time, th this Friday 27 May 2016 for the Summer half term. Have a great break and we look forward to seeing all the children th back in school at the normal times on Monday 6 June 2016. New Member of Staff My name is Jane Tyrrell and I am the Family Support Worker at Lodge Farm. Sometimes there are occasions when parents and carers need a little extra support and guidance; or maybe just someone to talk to and point you in the right direction. I am here to help children and families and can support parents and carers with any worries you may have in relation to your children’s behaviour and wellbeing by offering emotional and practical help, advice and signposting to relevant agencies. Don’t be afraid to ask. I may not have all the answers but I can help you work out where to find them. You can contact me through your child’s class teacher, the school office or by email:

Reminder – KS2 Playground Can we please remind you that when the second bell goes in the morning, parents are asked to leave the playground. Bikes – Scooters Can we please remind parents and children not to ride their bikes/scooters etc., on the school grounds. Also children on balance bikes need to be careful coming up to the school gates and go slower. Parent Helper We would like to say a big “Thank You” to Mrs Mole, one of our parent helpers who has been helping out with swimming and in class for over 14 years. We really appreciate all the help she has given to the school and wish her well for the future. The Stork is returning! Just to inform you that one of our Year 5 teachers, Mrs A’Barrow, is expecting her first child in October. We send our congratulations.
Dinner Monies th If by Friday 27 May 2016 you owe £22.00 or more, we will text you and expect you to send your child in with a packed lunch until the debt is paid in full. This cycle of monitoring will be repeated on a weekly basis. Lost Property A child in 2SH has lost a couple of Lodge Farm jumpers and one fleece. They have his initials in the clothing. Can you please check your child’s clothing in case they have picked up the wrong item.
We would like to improve the outside environment of the school. To this end, we want to submit a bid to the Tesco Bags of Help grant. We were thinking along the lines of an outside classroom around the pond area. We would like to ask parents for any suggestions they may have for outside areas of the school. Please email Miss Lovatt at
[email protected] or pop in and see her. Parent Governors We currently have two vacancies for parent Governors. If this is something you are interested in and would like more information, please pop into the office to arrange a meeting with Miss Turner. We will be starting the formal process after half term. Our skills audit currently shows that we would particularly welcome anyone with financial background.
