Central Texts: Nasreen’s Secret School by Jeanette Winter That Book Woman by Heather Henson Learning Targets: -Identify main message of a story using key details (characters, setting, motivation, problem, resolution). -Strategies to determine the meaning of words. -Practice close reading and note-taking. -Introduce paragraph writing and informative writing. Math: Unit 2: Rounding and Estimation Front End Estimation Unit 3: Addition up to 10,000 Addition without regrouping. Addition with regrouping in ones,tens, and hundreds. Parents: Thank you so much for the classroom supplies that many of you contributed to our class. If you did not get the supply list, please do not hesitate to have your child ask us for it. Test prep has already begun, so please make sure that your child is reading at home. Building stamina is very important for all students to develop for the days of the state test. Please check your child’s homework folder for important school papers. Also take a look at what your child is doing for homework and please sign their reading logs.
