4th Grade News December 4th Reading: lesson 13, Antarctic Journal ○ Skill: Cause & Effect Spelling Words: wiped, covered, mapped, pleasing, slipped, putting, traveled, seeking, visiting, mixed, shipped, phoning, offered, smelling, hiking, checking, fainted, landed, becoming, wandering Writing: Expository writing with a focus on sequence using transition words Grammar: Conjunctions and review verbs Math: Finish chapter 5 over factors and multiples. Test will be Thursday, Dec. 10th. They will need to know their divisibility rules from their notes and the prime numbers to 100. The prime numbers will be a timed test and required to write them in 70 seconds. Social Studies: Complete the chapter over the Southwest region. There will not be a test. We will do a project to review the chapter. The students in the charge of the celebration for the Southwest are Maveryk, Derek, and Brett. This will be on Dec. 16th. Science: learning about animal adaptations and behaviors. Test over chapter 4 will be December 15.
Christmas party will be Dec. 18th. Trey, Derek, and Brody are in charge. They have a note with more details. We will do a $5 gift exchange that day. You are welcome to send the gift anytime and put it under our tree. Snowflake contest is going on. There was a flyer sent home yesterday explaining this. YoYo sales will end Dec. 9th. The students visited Frankfort for a presentation on NED. NED stands for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best. Please see flyer that was sent home yesterday. Book Report due Dec. 17th over historical fiction book. AR Goals due December 18th No School Dec. 21st
