4th Grade News January 15th Reading: Lesson 16, Riding Freedom. For small reading groups, the students will be reading a biography book. ○ Skill: Compare and Contrast Spelling: risky, track, topic, blank, question, pocket, monkey, junk, equal, ache, public, attack, struck, earthquake, picnic, banker, electric, blanket, mistake, stomach Grammar: Pronouns Math: Chapter 6, we’ve played a few games with fractions to allow the students to manipulate fraction pieces. They have started into the book where we’ll be finding equivalent fractions and comparing fractions. Social Studies & Writing: The students have been reading about their Kansas topic and taking notes. I’m hoping to wrap that up and start putting the information together into a report to create an imovie. I will send out the imovies they created over the rock cycle we did with starbursts. Science: Chapter 5 test is on Thursday, Jan. 21st. We filled out a study guide today.
Congratulations to the 4th grade Geography Bee winners: Will, Brett, & Emmery Healthy Smiles Dental Program on January 25th. All participants must fill out a consent/medical form and return it to the school nurse by January 14th. (a note came home last week with this information)
