Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building expected to be completed by 2009, is protected with Jotun’s protective, powder coatings and decorative paints.
Jotun had been tasked to repaint the Eiffel Tower in France involving the use of three different shades of paint for different levels of the tower to create the impression of a single colour. The work consumed over 70 tonnes of paint over 15 months duration. Jotun’s Single Source Solution concept allows the company to package coatings from three divisions (protective, decorative and powder) as one comprehensive, integrated package.
Jotun is the pioneer of the Multicolor Tinting System and in 1976, became the first company to introduce such a machine to the market. Jotun is set to have a new, state-ofthe-art plant in Nilai, expected to be operational in 2011.
