Unit Doors & Elevator Door Frame Painting

The Exercise Room had new equipment delivered this week, go take a look-see. Starting 5/9/16 it will be painted, and starting 5/17/16 the carpet will be installed. The Q Room Commission is in the process of selecting new furniture. Looking Good!

After the Q Room painting is completed (week of 5/9/16), the contractors will resume painting the hallway doors and frames. They couldn’t do it while they were doing the walls, as it is a different kind of paint (enamel –vs- latex). They have completed the 17th & 18th floors, and they will be going down from there. Please be aware of wet paint.

Property Tax Assessment Appeal Successful! Elliott & Associates appealed 565 W. Quincy’s property tax valuation and secured nearly a million $$ in reduction in assessments. This translates to approximately $170k in tax savings per year for the building, over the next 3 years. This will be charged back to the unit owners later this summer. If you’d like your unit’s specific information, the spreadsheet is on www.565WestQuincy.com. Rooftop Grills Are Open Please don’t waste propane gas by neglecting to shut off the rooftop grills after you’re done using them. And remember, charcoal grills are not allowed per the City. Energy Commission Seeks Input Do you want to see 565 West Quincy become Greener? The Energy Commission could use your interest and abilities. Contact Management to participate. Like Your Bike? Tag It! Of the 98 of the bicycles present in the building, 41 do not have tags. They are going to be donated if they are not claimed by contacting the office – you must prove ownership by Management watching the removal of the locks. On 6/1/16 the unclaimed bikes’ locks will be clipped and the bicycles donated to charity. Key Fob Registration Update A big THANKYOU to everyone who has provided their fob information; if you haven’t provided it in the last year, please do. Unregistered fobs will be deactivated 6/1/16.

Pressbox Expanding & Moving to the Qroom Starting 5/20/16, Pressbox will be adding four lockers and moving into the Q Room, right by the theater. They will be accessible during the Q Room renovation. HVAC Cleaning, May 19 & 20 – AND May 26 & 27 Two more dates are available – Thursday 5/26/16 and Friday 5/27/16. Management is in the middle of scheduling this service. If you haven’t, please contact the office if you’d like to be added to the discounted offer by Air-Rite Heating and Cooling. Regularly $255, now $217 for 565 residents, includes 1# of coolant and HVAC cleaning. Keep Insurance & Leases Up-To-Date Just a quick reminder that you’ll receive only one notice before your insurance or lease expires, after it lapses, you’ll get a warning. If you still do not provide your information after that, you’ll receive a violation with a fine of $200 for insurance and $50 DAILY for leases. Rules & Regulations Commission Efforts The Commission has worked diligently on revising the rules and regulations; the Board will be sending them to the ownership this summer. Please watch your mail for it. Curb Your Dog… And Your Smoking Too Please remember that the rules state you can’t let your dog relieve within 50 feet from any building entrance, and you can’t smoke within 15 feet of any entrance.
