FREEMASONS ROAD E16 - CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING As part of on-going works in Freemasons Road, London Borough of Newham will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing between 9th and 13th November 2015. There will be a road closure in place for the entire road between 8am—5pm on each of these days. To allow staff, children and parents entry to school, the London Borough of Newham have agreed to make access available to Sophia Road (at the A13 Underpass end of Freemasons Road) between 6am-9.30am and then 3.00pm-5.00pm. If you require any further information, we have also sent home a letter regarding this matter showing correspondence from the London Borough of Newham where you can find all necessary contact information.
REMEMBRANCE DAY Remembrance Day (also known as Armistice Day) s held on the 11th November. It marks the day World War One ended at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. This anniversary is now used to remember all the people who have died in wars, not just World War One. Rosetta will be acknowledging Remembrance Day at school on Tuesday 10th November 2015, instead of the 11th November, as school will be closed on this day. We will be holding a 1 minute silence at 11.am.
VIVRE LA FRANCE! In October, we took some lucky Year 6 children to Lille in Northern France for 4 days. We took the Eurostar from London St. Pancras to Lille and stayed in a youth hostel for 3 nights. For many of the children it was the first time they had been abroad and away from home without their parents. A great time was had by all; we went to the park, the beach, an aquarium and completed a treasure hunt. We practiced speaking in French by ordering food and drinks and also by chatting to French children we met whilst we were out and about. The children were a real credit to the school and their parents, their behaviour was excellent and they almost did everything that was asked of them first time! Everybody, children and adults, had a great time and I am sure that the memories of Lille will stay with them for a very long time. Miss Bradbury(Associate Headteacher)

PARENTS' EVENING A big thank you to all parents who attended Parents' Evening before half term. We are very grateful for all of the support you give to your children and to Rosetta! However, we would like to remind all parents and carers that you are welcome to come and speak to your child's teacher at any time of the year, if there is anything you would like to discuss. Before 8.45am and after 3.20pm tend to be convenient times, but other times can be arranged with the class teachers for informal teacher meetings. For any questions or/and information about any Special Educational Needs your child may have, please feel free to make an appointment with our SENCO by asking at the school office, again, this can be done at any time and we will do our best to meet with you as soon as possible.

Foundation Stage and KS1 Parents and Carers are invited to join their children for a Diwali Craft Workshop on Tuesday 10th November at 2.15pm. SEAL focuses on children’s Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning. The SEAL unit for this half term is ‘Getting On and Falling Out’. All the children will have the chance to think about and discuss ways they can overcome any problems with friends; learn ways to work together as a team, what to do if anyone is unhappy and ultimately ways to ensure that all children at Rosetta continue to learn happily at school. You may find that your child wishes to discuss their ideas about this unit with you and we look forward to hearing your opinions! Miss Boisseau (Seal Subject Leader)
REWARDS ROOM We have used some of the money raised from last year's sponsored walk to purchase some new games and toys for the Rewards Room. As you can see, the children are thoroughly enjoying making use of them !
