Learning to See

8am Holy Communion - Order One David Corfe

In half term we went to Oxford for the day, what a beautiful city it is! The funny thing is, I was at university in Oxford for 3 years and never really noticed! Whilst at university I had been ill (eating disorder) and had been so busy surviving day to day that I not only didn’t appreciate the beauty of where I was living; but I wasn’t really living at all. Perhaps life can be like that for us as Christians; so busy surviving in the ‘now’ of this life that we don’t see the beauty of the Kingdom that we can catch glimpses of all around us even if it’s not with us fully yet. Jesus promised “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10), let’s ask him to open our eyes to see it. Sammy Jordan
