What is Phytocel™ Phytocel™ is a functional food ingredient derived from fresh sugarcane (sucrose removed). Phytocel™ is produced using our patented chemical-free process to harness all the goodness and freshness usually depleted during traditional processing practices. The raw cane is selected from farmers in the Burdekin Region of North Queensland in Australia. They are selected for their quality soils and proven environmental practices and the fact that they do not burn off dry foliage before harvesting. All aspects of the growing cycle are regularly tested and chemical analysis monitored for contaminants and allergens to ensure pure, natural and allergen-free qualities. The fresh sugarcane is washed and rough chopped. The sucrose is removed by diffusion and then dewatered by centrifugal force and dried with low heat allowing the phytonutrients to remain in the final product.
