MEETING AGENDA:
Does the Network want to move ahead with a summer 2016 effort to offer a “reading skill” component in summer youth programs throughout the County? o If we decide to move ahead, we need to create a list of what youth programming we might connect with (libraries, sports programs, YMCA, school sponsored summer programming, Vacation Bible Schools, etc.). Please inventory your District and come Dec. 15th with a DRAFT list of what is offered for kids during the summer, in your area. Who is in charge? Contact information? o What are the suggestions for a reading skill to focus on (Siena students will teach the volunteers how to incorporate this skill in their summer program) o Timeline for organizing this effort
Other: o Update on Literacy grants written to the MDE o Shall a presentation be scheduled on the Imagination Library research that MSU is doing in Jackson County for our February 2016 meeting?
