Head Vet: Rick Poteste DVM San Tan Veterinarian Services The AHAA Halloween Endurance Ride will be held Saturday, October 30, 2010 at McDowell Mountain Park in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Entry Fee & deadline: Entries must be received in our office by Monday, October 25, 2010. After that date a $25.00 administration fee will be added. A full refund of entry fee will be given to any applicant entered in an event provided that applicant has not started in the event. Once the applicant starts in the event, the entry fee is not refundable. Trails: Trail is in moderate condition. There are rocks, sandy washes, & abundance of cactus. It is a single track trail, also it is a shared trail with hikers and bicyclists. Campsite: Primitive camping, horse water and port a potties. Location: 16300 McDowell Mountain Park Dr. Fountain Hills, Arizona 85255. The park fee is $6.00 per day or $10.00 for overnight. Intro Riders: The ride offers an opportunity for new comers to see what endurance is all about. There is a 6 hour time for completion for the 25 mile ride (as long as your horse’s heart rate does not exceed 60 beats per minute). If your horse completes the ride you will receive a completion certificate, and experience the sport of endurance. Junior Riders: All junior riders must wear protective head gear at all times while on an equine and ride with adult sponsor. Those juniors who qualify to ride without a sponsor must have appropriate paperwork from AERC. Rules and Regulations: This ride will be conducted in accordance with AERC: www.aerc.org Photography: Pictures will be taken by an official photographer (Deane Stanton) and will be posted on the AHAA website (www.scottsdaleshow.com) for you to purchase. Meals: Dinner will be provided on Friday evening to all competitors at 5pm and will be a western BBQ. Non riders may eat for a $5.00. Awards: A Completion t‐shirt will be given to each competitor and certificates will be awarded for all riders who complete the ride. Awards will be given for: 1st place adult rider, 1st place junior rider, best conditioned horse , the last but not least rider in both ride distances and best Halloween costume for horse and rider combination.
Dogs: All dogs must be on a leash at all times. Please pick up after your dog.
